38 Special rocks! They opened for Kansas so did an abbreviated show, but played songs nonstop to get every minute of music in for the crowd going crazy for each song.

Will be looking for their next show nearby. Definitely worth seeing!!

Great music and showmanship. Sounds as good now as they did back in the day!!

Could have played a little longer and performed an encore or two. The guys still have what it takes to put on a good performance.

38 Special put on a great show! Don Barnes voice has held up very well. New band is faithful to the music and reproduce the sound well. Did a fantastic cover of Feeling Stronger Every Day! They ALSO played my all time favorite 38 Special song, Chain Lightning, which rocked the house. I knew going in I would like the show, but I came out thinking it was in my top 10 all time concerts. They were on my bucket list and well worth the wait. Definitely a must see if you get a chance!

Jeezy announces additional dates for Playlist Concert Series

Jeezy is taking his iconic tracks back on the road, continuing his unique Playlist Concert Series tour. This isn’t your typical concert experience; Jeezy has crafted something special by letting fans decide which of his legendary Atlanta rap anthems they want to hear live. It’s a move that shows how much he values his audience, giving them a voice in the show’s setlist and ensuring that each performance feels personal and tailored to those in attendance.

This fall, the Atlanta rap legend has added more dates for a new leg of the Playlist Concert Series, set to kick off on November 2 in Charleston, South Carolina. Therefore, fans of the “Trap or Die” rapper have 10 opportunities to catch the show, with the final performance landing in his hometown of Atlanta on December 28.

How to Get Tickets: Presale Details You Need to Know

Moreover, the excitement for Jeezy’s upcoming shows is already building, especially since presale tickets went live on Wednesday at 12 p.m. Eastern Time. For those eager to secure their spots, there’s a simple trick: use the code “ALLBLACK” at checkout on [PlaylistTour.com](https://PlaylistTour.com) to unlock access. Tickets are expected to sell quickly, as fans are buzzing to see their favorite Jeezy tracks performed live.

What Makes Jeezy’s Playlist Tour So Unique?

Jeezy’s Playlist Concert Series isn’t just another tour; it’s a celebration of his legacy and the music that has shaped the Atlanta rap scene. The series puts the power in the hands of fans, allowing them to choose the songs they want to hear through an interactive process. This fan-centered approach has set his concerts apart, as no two shows are exactly alike. Each performance is a curated experience based on the songs that resonate most with the attendees.

From early hits like “Soul Survivor” to more recent tracks, fans are in for an immersive experience as Jeezy dives into his extensive catalog. By giving the audience the chance to control the narrative, Jeezy’s tour feels more like a collaborative party than a traditional concert. Therefore, it’s a smart and fresh approach that aligns perfectly with the interactive nature of today’s music fans.

What You Need to Know About the Fall 2024 Playlist Concert Series Tour

Jeezy’s new Playlist Concert Series tour dates include stops in major cities like Charleston, Washington D.C., Detroit, and of course, Atlanta.

As Jeezy wraps up the tour in Atlanta, fans can expect a particularly special homecoming show. After all, Atlanta is where it all began for the rapper, and the energy in the room will undoubtedly be electric.

Jeezy’s Recent Moves: From “I Might Forgive But I Don’t Forget” to Collaborations

Jeezy has been keeping busy since his last album release, I Might Forgive But I Don’t Forget , which dropped in November 2023. The project reminded listeners of his lyrical prowess and ability to narrate street life with honesty and grit. Tracks from this album have already made waves, and fans are eager to see if some of these newer cuts will make their way into the Playlist Concert Series setlist.

Beyond his own work, Jeezy continues to stay relevant through collaborations. This past summer, he appeared on the remix of JT’s buzzing single, “ Okay .” The remix brought a nostalgic throwback vibe, adding to the momentum of JT’s *City Cinderella* mixtape. His feature on the song was well received, adding his seasoned flair to the track’s new-school energy.

Why You Shouldn’t Miss This Tour

For anyone who considers themselves a true fan of Jeezy, the Playlist Concert Series is a must-see event. Here’s why:

1. **Custom Setlists:** The concert revolves around fan votes, making each performance a unique, tailored experience. It’s not just about Jeezy performing; it’s about celebrating the tracks that fans have connected with over the years.

2. **Nostalgia and New:** With a career spanning nearly two decades, Jeezy’s setlist is sure to include a mix of classic hits and newer songs, giving fans a complete tour through his evolution as an artist. Whether it’s songs from his early *Thug Motivation 101* days or his latest album, there’s something for every Jeezy fan.

3. **High Energy Performances:** If past Playlist Concert Series shows are any indication, expect Jeezy to bring his trademark intensity and authenticity to the stage. Fans have praised previous performances for their raw energy and engagement, proving that Jeezy knows how to put on a show that leaves a lasting impact.

4. **Interactive Experience:** The concert doesn’t just end at the music. Jeezy’s team has been known to create an engaging atmosphere with high-quality visuals, lighting, and storytelling moments that enhance the audience’s connection to the performance.

How Jeezy’s Tour Reflects His Connection With Fans

Jeezy’s decision to put the fans in control of the concert’s playlist is a testament to his understanding of what they want. It’s clear that he isn’t just going through the motions of a tour to promote his music. Instead, he’s prioritizing the experience and interaction with his audience, a move that is often rare in today’s music landscape.

REO Speedwagon to quit touring due to 'complex situation'

the specials tour dates 2023

REO Speedwagon has come to a stop.

The band, which formed in 1967, announced on Monday that as of January, they plan to cease touring, with their last stop on their current tour being Lexington, Kentucky, on Nov. 23.

The group detailed their reasons in a lengthy Facebook post that cited "irreconcilable differences," a term usually cited in divorce cases.

"To our fans: Bruce has intended to be Back On the Road Again by now. If it were up to just him, he’d be back on tour… but it's not up to just him," the band wrote on its Facebook page, referencing bassist Bruce Hall, who recently underwent back surgery.

JANE'S ADDICTION CANCELS TOUR AFTER DAVE NAVARRO, PERRY FARRELL'S ONSTAGE FIGHT

The band’s statement continued, "The consensus opinion was that he had not recovered sufficiently to be able to perform at the level the fans have come to expect. Bruce respected that opinion and is grateful that Matt has been around to keep the Wagon rolling through the summer tour. Bruce never had any intention of retiring or walking away from the band, fans, and crew he has loved for almost 50 years."

Bassist Matt Bissonette, who has played with musicians like Ringo Starr and Elton John, began filling in for Hall last year when he underwent surgery.

Last year, Hall told Ultimate Classic Rock that the "consensus" was he was "healthy" enough to return to touring, but he did not have "good enough posture to perform at the level expected by our fans."

JON BON JOVI PREVENTS WOMAN IN 'MOMENT OF CRISIS’ FROM JUMPING OFF A BRIDGE

The band’s statement added, "For Kevin’s part, he too has never had any intention of leaving the band, and the fans and crew mean the world to him, as well."

Kevin Cronin, 71, is the band’s lead singer who joined the group in 1971.

"Due to this complex situation, irreconcilable differences arose between Bruce and Kevin," the statement continued. "So, it is with great sadness that we announce REO Speedwagon will cease touring effective January 1, 2025. Neal, Kevin, and Bruce thank their fans for all their years of loyal support and for giving back to the band such wonderful memories that will remain with each of them forever."

Keyboardist Neal Doughty, 78, is a founding member of the band.

Hall said he was "heartbroken" over the decision in his own Facebook post.

"Never ever thought it would end like this and I'm heartbroken," he told fans. "Please know Neal and I did everything in our power to try and keep the Wagon rolling. I am so appreciative of ALL the amazing love & support. You guys have been very vocal and clear in your wishes for me to return to the stage. Trust me...that's all I wanted too."

Hall added, "We all deserved a farewell tour."

Hall said that he had wanted the band to continue to tour with the "lineup of Kevin, myself, Dave [Amato], Bryan [Hitt] and Derek [Hilland]. Just as it was prior to my necessary, planned and successful back surgery."

"I love and will miss you all," he added.

Earlier this month, the band canceled shows in Chula Vista in San Diego County and Phoenix after Cronin fell ill.

The band has 19 dates left on their tour, starting with Rancho Mirage, California, on Sept. 27.

Along with Doughty, REO Speedwagon was formed by Alan Gratzer, Mike Blair and Joe Matt at the University of Illinois.

REO Speedwagon has released a number of successful albums, including "Hi Infidelity," which has sold 10 million copies in the U.S. Their hits include "Can't Fight This Feeling," "Keep on Loving You" and "Take it on the Run."

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Festival News

– Near-perfect weather on the weekend helped ensure the success of this year's edition (the 16th) of Supercrawl in Hamilton, Sept. 13-15. One of Canada's biggest and best free summer music and arts festivals, it delivered the goods with a well-curated and diverse lineup of emerging talent alongside well-established and popular acts. I went crawling on two of the three days, catching bands at both main fest stages.

Playing typically crowd-pleasing sets were roots rock favourites Elliott BROOD (now Hamilton-based) and Toronto veterans The Sadies , thankfully soldiering on as a trio after the tragic loss of Dallas Good. Montreal indie rock favourites The Dears were able to bring their orchestral pop sound to vivid life via a nine-piece lineup, while acclaimed singer/songwriter Charlotte Cornfield and fast-rising horn-fuelled 12-piece band My Son The Hurricane were both well-received for their shows on the Main Stage.

The real revelations of this year's Crawl were two newer bands featuring some renowned vocalists and players. Folk-rock combo MOONRIIVR is based around singer/songwriter Gavin Gardiner (The Wooden Sky) and guitar ace Champagne James Robertson (Dwayne Gretzky, C & C Surf Factory) and the combination of Gardiner's dramatic voice and onstage charisma and CJR's fluent licks was mesmerizing. The Wild High is a new Hamilton band headed by former Monster Truck vocalist/bassist Jon D. Harvey, and its guitar-heavy sound covers both Southern rock and country/rock terrain. With Harvey's great rock voice and radio-friendly songs, expect labels to come sniffing.

Industry news

– After a lengthy period without a venue to call its own, non-profit Toronto music presenter Hugh's Room Live secured a building at 296 Broadview Ave in the east end in 2023, and has now been presenting performances there for a full year. Upcoming concerts include Dan Hill, Tom Paxton, Twin Flames, Luke and The Apostles, Tom Rush and Hilario Duran. This Friday (Sept. 20), HRL hosts a show by Tom Wilson's TEHÅHÀHAKE Trio, and our sources whisper that a major announcement regarding the venue's situation will be made that evening. Stay tuned.

– Her Royal Majesty’s Entertainment , in partnership with G eorgie Jett Events , has announced that Bif Naked has officially signed with AMP Talent Group for exclusive representation across film, television, hosting, voiceover and commercials. Future plans for the rock singer include a documentary and film about her life story, two new albums and another ‘Best Of’ album.

– The South By Southwest Conference and Festival (SXSW) is accepting applications to showcase at its 2025 edition in Austin, running March 10-15. The final deadline to submit here is Oct. 31.

– B.C.-based vocalist and piano star Michael Kaeshammer has just launched the second season of his food and music show, Kaeshammer’s Kitchen. Airing on CHEK TV, as well as nationally on YES TV and Channel Zero, it features him cooking with musical celebrity guests, followed by a joint performance. The premiere season featured such legendary stars as Andy Kim and Randy Bachman, and the impressive new lineup includes Colin James, Tyler Shaw, Katie Tupper, Donovan Wood, Chuck Leavell (The Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers Band), Jill Barber, Mike Farris, Matt Andersen and Aysanabee.

— Making it’s only Canadian stop at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), The Culture: Hip Hop and Contemporary Art in the 21st Century , according to its press release, "tells the story of this multi-disciplinary and expressly creative culture, its philosophies and global impact. Opening December 4, 2024, The Culture includes Toronto content in the form of Caitlin Cronenberg’s famed photograph of the CN Tower for Drake's Views album cover; Craig Boyko’s portrait of a young Snoop Dogg; and some of Toronto’s hip hop pioneers immortalized through the lens of Patrick Nichols. The exhibition also highlights apparel from legendary Toronto Streetwear brand Too Black Guys . More info here .

– A post on Colin James' Facebook page on Sept. 16 informed that "Unfortunately Colin was involved in a motor vehicle accident yesterday afternoon. He’s recovering and doing well, but due to his injuries, he won’t be able to continue on the rest of his US tour. He’s sorry he won’t be able to play these shows, and looks forward to coming back another time soon. Please contact your point of purchase for ticket refunds. All the best, -Team CJ."

The veteran platinum-selling blues-rocker had begun touring in support of a new album, Chasing The Sun, released on Aug. 23. He headlined the Niagara Falls Blues Festival in New York on Sept. 14, and the accident has forced him to cancel scheduled shows in Portsmouth, NH, New York City and Cincinnati, OH. Last month James was awarded the Order of British Columbia .

Artists news

– Veteran Canadian art-popsters Stars are releasing a 25th anniversary deluxe edition of their breakthrough album Set Yourself On Fire on Sept. 30. A North American tour in support begins at the famed Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey, and runs through to Oct. 26, with a closing date in Denver. Many shows are already sold out, including three nights at The Concert Hall in Toronto (Oct. 3-5), an impressive feat. Support acts at different concerts include The Dears, Lydia Persaud, Gentleman Reg, Kevin Drew and Teen Ravine. Info and tickets at wearestars.com

– 0Stella (a.k.a. Liz Pomery) is an Edmonton-based Irish-Canadian alt-rock singer/songwriter committed to touring in the greenest way, ie by bicycle. She has had successful bicycle music tours across Canada, Ireland and Europe, and has just begun a trek across Ontario. This tour sees her play shows in Waterloo (Sept. 18), Owen Sound (Sept. 21), Napanee (Sept. 22), Perth (Sept. 24) and Toronto (27 & 28). The zero-waste advocate (thus the zero in her name) has accumulated some 8,500 kms of cycling in support of her two albums, Freefall (2022) and Skyward (2023). A full vinyl record, Pendulum State, is nearing completion. Itinerary and more info here .

Taylor Swift Is ‘Ready for the Next Era of Her Life’ After Tour: What She and Travis Kelce Want for 2025

Travis Kelce didn’t accompany girlfriend Taylor Swift to the MTV VMAs on September 11, but she made sure his presence was felt when she took home a Moon Man — her seventh of the night — for Video of the Year for her song “Fortnight.” After thanking her collaborators, including Post Malone , Swift turned the focus to Kelce, saying she’ll never forget how he cheered her on between takes on the set. “Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic,” she said as the crowd cheered excitedly. “So I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I will always remember that.”

The sweet shout-out came on the heels of a whirlwind — and highly visible — week for the pair. On September 8, their PDA lovefest stole the show at the U.S. Open, where they kissed, danced and at one point passionately sang the 2003 Darkness song “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” to each other. In the days prior, they hit up Brooklyn hotspot Lucali and attended the wedding of model Karen Elson at Electric Lady Studios. The outings — along with Swift’s gushing VMAs acceptance speech — quickly helped dispel rumors that the couple have been faking their relationship for PR purposes. On September 2, phony documents outlining a media breakup plan for Kelce and Swift went viral; Kelce’s PR firm, Full Scope, threatened to take legal action over the “false and fabricated” papers, which bore the company’s logo.

It’s become clear that the romance between the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the Grammy-winning singer is as real as it gets, and their connection has only gotten stronger amid public scrutiny and the challenges that come with high-profile, high-pressure careers. “They’ve built a lot of trust. They both knew what they signed up for and navigated it well,” a source exclusively shares in the latest Us Weekly cover story. “They’re in love and don’t care what others think.”

Now, after more than a year of dating, they’re entering a new phase of their relationship as Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour winds down. “Taylor and Travis are very committed and serious about their future,” says a second source. “Taylor is ready for the next era of her life. She knows it will be special.”

Savoring the Moments

Swift and Kelce are making the most of her break before she hits the road again in late October for the final dates of her tour, which ends on December 8 after a 152-show run. “It’s been amazing since Taylor and Travis reunited,” says the first source, adding that they’ve been “loving every minute together” since Swift returned to the States in late August. They hung out at her $17 million Rhode Island home last month with a host of A-list pals, including Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper and Jason and Kylie Kelce .

“Taylor’s been working nonstop and wanted to spend some time there while the weather is still good,” a source previously told Us . “It was really the first time everyone had come together in one place in a long time.”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Relationship Timeline: From Chiefs Games to Private Date Nights

One of Swift and Kelce’s favorite things to do is hunker down at home and enjoy each other’s company. “They are both chill people who love their downtime,” says the first source, adding that their secret date nights are decidedly simple: “Staying in is a luxury for them. They enjoy cooking dinner together. It’s a refreshing contrast to their [public] lives.” The second source says they’ve found a “good balance” between hitting the town and lying low.

Swift will spend the next few weeks attending as many Chiefs games as she can (she was in attendance for the season opener on September 5). “She loves cheering Travis on and supporting him as much as he loves cheering her on,” the first source says. (Kelce hit up his 14th Eras Tour concert on July 18 in Germany, a few days before the Chiefs’ training camp began.) Adds the second source: “Taylor has come to love football and is really excited the season is back.” (Kelce recently confirmed Swift has been drawing up plays for him.) “She’s loved being around the football community,” says the source. “It’s a reprieve from work for her, and Travis is excited she’s fully ingrained in his world.” Swift will likely be on hand to celebrate his October 5 birthday with family and friends at his Kelce Car Jam in Kansas City.

In It to Win It

They’ve been having “serious conversations” about what’s next, says the second source. “Taylor has expressed how excited she is to settle down after her tour concludes. They’re on the same page.” The first source says friends hope an engagement is around the corner. “They both see marriage as something they want sooner rather than later, and they both want kids. Taylor has always [been excited by] the idea of marriage and starting a family. She just hadn’t found The One until now.” Kelce is also ready to take things up a level and “has dropped hints to those close to him,” says the source. (In a September 10 interview with Us , rapper — and Swiftie — Flavor Flav even said he’d love to officiate their wedding!)

Taylor Swift’s Dating History: A Timeline of Her Famous Exes and Flings

It’s going to be a busy couple of months. Kelce’s new Ryan Murphy FX series, Grotesquerie , is out September 25 and his game show, Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? , premieres October 16. He and his brother also signed a massive $100 million deal for their "New Heights" podcast, and he’s set to make a cameo in Adam Sandler ’s upcoming Happy Gilmore sequel . “Taylor is happy for Travis’ success,” notes the first source, “and encourages him to go for new opportunities.”

Swift hasn’t made any big decisions about her post-tour career plans just yet. “She’s looking forward to taking a break and relaxing. She’s exhausted,” the source says, adding that Swift is ready to focus on herself and her future with Kelce. “That’s the plan for 2025,” says the second source. “Taylor’s really eager to start the next chapter with Travis.”
