    2003 Chrysler Voyager Transmission problem (Update.) Thanks for the reply & information about the fluid. The tranny pan did have a magnet that was covered in gray sludge. (It looked like a small hairy grey mop. Yuck!!) Anyway I cleaned it all up reinstalled, and filled it with 4 quarts of Castrol ATF-4 Transmission fluid, specifically for Chrysler.

    My wife drives a 2003 Chrysler Voyager - 3.3L engine. The past month or so the transmission has been intermittantly hard downshifting when slowing down to a stop. Back in April, she was driving it from Tennessee to Georgia and the speedometer dropped to 0 while going about 70. She slowed a bit and it returned to normal.
