The Seychelles government has introduced a travel authorisation, also known as an ETA, for the purpose of visiting the country for tourism, transit or business. This document allows you to enter the country only once and to stay for a maximum of 90 days. This process is compulsory, prior to departure, for all travellers, even if they are visa-exempt. Most countries are eligible for this online application. The consular fee is โฌ11.00 . The average turnaround time is 3 days for urgent departures.

The Seychelles ETA in a nutshell
For a trip to Seychelles , the ETA is compulsory for most nationalities.
Your ETA for Seychelles allows you to stay 90 days there for a fee of โฌ11.00 , excluding service charges. With your ETA Seychelles , you can enter via several entry points such as the Seychelles International Airport (Mahรฉ), Praslin Airport, Denis Island Airport (Denis Island) or Frรฉgate Island Airport. ETA is not required for arrival by sea.
It is not possible to obtain a ETA Seychelles on arrival The document may be requested before your departure and when you board. We advise you to online application at least 3 days before you arrive.

Entry Requirements
What do i need to gain entry to the seychelles.
Since December 1, 2022, neither a Covid-19 vaccination nor a test certificate is required for entry. Before departure, all tourists must apply for a travel authorization through this platform: Travel authorization .
This travel authorization is mandatory for all travelers entering the country (including children) and costs 10 โฌ per person. The application for travel authorisation is possible from 30 days before arrival. The processing time can take up to 24 hours. Please plan ahead for this and apply for the permit early.
The following information will be requested or must be uploaded during the registration process:
- valid passport
- digital passport photo or "passport photo selfie" (a portrait photo of you, you can take it with your mobile phone)
- Traveler's contact information (home address, phone, email)
- Travel information (flight details & accommodations in Seychelles)
- Credit card information for payment
After registration, the traveler will receive an automated confirmation of receipt as well as payment by email. In another email, maximum 12 hours after registration, the traveler will receive the travel authorization. This travel authorization (pdf) must be printed or saved on your mobile phone.
- If you have any problems when applying for your travel authorization, please use the chat function on the site https://seychelles.govtas.com to solve the problem.
- If you have problems applying for the travel authorisation in your browser, try the "Seychelles E-Border" app. You can download it in your app store.
- If you are planning to buy a local SIM card to use the internet, we recommend that you order one when applying for your travel authorisation. The prices for the various data packages are significantly cheaper than on site.
Which Vaccinations are required for the Seychelles?
There are no required vaccinations for the Seychelles except for visitors travelling from a yellow fever area. For these travellers, a valid proof of yellow fever vaccination is required. A yellow fever vaccination is not necessary if you only had a stopover in Ethiopia but did not enter the country.
Customs Formalities for the Seychelles
Travellers from Europe may import unlimited amounts of foreign currency into the Seychelles. However, the national currency may only be imported in amounts of up to SCR 2,000 - approximately equivalent to โฌ115.
In addition, the following import limits apply: 2 litres of spirits or liquor, 2 litres of wine, 200ml of perfume or eau de toilette, 200 cigarettes or 250g of tobacco. The import of weapons of any kind is prohibited, and requires special authorisation. The value of food brought in may not exceed โฌ200 in value (SCR 3,000). Anything beyond this is taxed in the local currency and must be paid in cash on the spot (credit card payment not possible).
Animals: Can you bring pets to the Seychelles?
Animals may only be brought into the Seychelles if they will be staying for more than six months. Entry with cats and/or dogs requires authorisation by the Veterinary Office. Any animals require a valid vaccination certificate, with proof of a rabies vaccination and an animal health certificate. Depending on the country of origin, the animals must stay in quarantine for two weeks to six months before being granted access. Bird species are not allowed to be brought into the country. This information is for people travelling on a full โBritish citizenโ passport from the UK. It is based on the UK governmentโs understanding of Seychellesโ current rules for the most common types of travel.
The authorities in Seychelles set and enforce entry rules. If youโre not sure how these requirements apply to you, contact the Seychelles High Commission in the UK .
COVID-19 rules
There are no COVID-19 testing or vaccination requirements for travellers entering Seychelles.
Passport validity requirements
If youโre visiting Seychelles, your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay. ย ย ย ย
Check with your travel provider that your passport and other travel documents meet requirements. Renew your passport if you need to.
You will be denied entry if you do not have a valid travel document or try to use a passport that has been reported lost or stolen.
Visa requirements
You do not need a visa to visit Seychelles, but you must get a travel authorisation before you travel.
When you arrive, youโll get a visitorโs permit for 3 months. You can apply for 3-month extensions, up to a maximum period of 12 months in total, if you meet visitor permit extension requirements . You can apply to extend any time before your current visitorโs permit expires.
The visitorโs permit is free for the first 3 months, but there is a fee for each 3-month extension.
Applying for a travel authorisation
You must apply and pay for a travel authorisation online to enter Seychelles. You can apply up to 10 days before you arrive. In an emergency, you can pay an extra fee for an express application.
When you apply, you will need to show you meet Seychelles entry requirements. These include having:
- a valid return or onward ticket
- proof of confirmed accommodation
- sufficient funds for the duration of your stay
Checks at border control ย
When you arrive, you may need to show proof you have travel insurance and are covered for any potential health costs.
Vaccine requirements
You must have a certificate to prove youโve had a yellow fever vaccination if youโre coming from a country listed as a transmission risk .ย

Do I need a yellow fever vaccination certificate ?
Yellow Fever Does Not Exist in Seychelles. Yellow fever vaccination is needed if you are traveling to Seychelles from a yellow fever endemic region. If you are transiting through an airport of a yellow fever endemic region for less than 12 hours you do not need yellow fever vaccination. Whenever yellow fever vaccination is required, proof of vaccination will be demanded at the entry point by public health officers.
Do I need a Visa to travel to the Seychelles?
ย Travel to the Seychelles is visa-free, irrespective of nationality.*ย Instead, a Visitorโs Permit is issued before arrival in Seychelles. It is free of charge and valid for three months for the first three months after which, a fee is applicable for extension.
* Seychelles does not recognize the sovereignty of the following countries: Taiwan, Western Sahara and Kosovo.
Which documents do I need to obtain a Visitor's permit?

Conditions for entry of persons into Seychelles
Additionally, with effect from October 1, 2020, visitors from a limited number of countries not on the published permitted list are permitted to travel to Seychelles. These countries will appear as โspecial status countriesโ for the purpose of this advisory, and different conditions apply to travellers from these countries.
The list of permitted countries, โspecial status countriesโ and conditions are reviewed periodically and will be issued by the department of health and published on the department of health and tourism department websites. Visitors should note that the Covid-19 outbreak is dynamic and the listing of countries may change. They must therefore ensure that flight and hotel bookings permit flexibility regarding cancellation or postponement at short notice.
All persons, including all categories of visitors, Seychellois, persons holding permanent residence or GOP, diplomats, consultants, crews of shipping vessels intending to travel to Seychelles must apply for their Health Travel Authorisation, at https://seychelles.govtas.com . Applicants must have at hand their passport, valid negative PCR Covid-19 test result, itinerary, accommodation booking confirmation and GOP certificate. All visitors are also required to have travel and health insurance cover for Covid-19 related quarantine and medical care.
Health Travel Authorisation will be issued electronically by email to applicants. Travellers must present the Authorisation in printed or electronic form at check-in and on arrival. Airlines will not board any traveller without the Authorisation. Travellers are advised to carry printed copies of all the essential documents.
ย Visitors to Seychelles from countries on the list of permitted countries
- All travellers must submit proof of a valid negative Covid-19 PCR test that is done less than 72 hours prior to departure to Seychelles.
- Travellers must present proof of negative test results when checking-in for their flight to Seychelles. Airlines will not accept passengers for travel to Seychelles without the test result.
- Aircraft/Airline are not to board any passengers or crew who are symptomatic of Covid-19.
- Any travellers who arrive in Seychelles without the Health Travel Authorisation and acceptable proof of negative Covid-19 PCR test will be denied entry.
- Exit screening at the airport of origin and transit must have been completed by all incoming passengers and crew.
- Entry screening will be done upon arrival starting with examination of the Health Travel Authorisation, symptomatic check, temperature scanning. The passenger may be required to undergo additional tests.
- All travellers must provide proof of accommodation in an approved establishment for the entire period of stay and must show booking vouchers at Immigration on entry. (Visitors should consult the Seychelles Tourism website ( www.tourism.gov.sc ) for the list of approved establishments and any additional advice.)
- Visitors are permitted to stay in not more than 2 different approved establishments in the first 7 days.
- To ensure the safety of staff and visitors, all persons at tourism establishments are monitored daily for signs of illness by the Health and Safety Officer or designated person.
- All tourism establishments, including hotels, restaurants, taxis, tour operators, ferries and domestic flight services, have set up measures to increase vigilance, enhance hygiene and social and physical distancing. Visitors are required to follow the guidance of the management and staff. (See also Guide for Visitors published by the Department of Tourism)
- Visitors must adhere to all the regulations in place, including the wearing of face masks in indoor and outdoor settings defined by law. There is prohibition of the use of public buses by visitors.
- Any illness must be reported immediately to the management of the establishment, who will provide appropriate guidance.
ย Visitors to Seychelles from โspecial status countriesโ
- All travellers from โspecial status countriesโ must submit proof of a valid negative Covid-19 PCR test that is done less than 48 hours prior to departure to Seychelles.
- Visitors are required to stay in one establishment, specifically authorised to accommodate visitors from such countries, for the first 5 days after entering Seychelles (or for the entire duration of stay should it be less than 5 days). Refer to list at ( www.tourism.gov.sc )
- Visitors must stay within areas designated by the establishment during this initial period, and are required to strictly adhere to all the conditions in place at the establishment.
- On the fifth (5th) day after arrival, all visitors from โspecial status countriesโ must have a PCR Covid-19 test (the cost of the test is covered by the department of health done in government health facilities).
- If the PCR test is negative, visitors will be free to continue with their planned holiday (the conditions listed under Visitors to Seychelles from countries on the list of permitted countries apply).
- Visitors who test positive and are asymptomatic will be required to stay in tourism establishments specifically designated and authorised for such purpose.
- Visitors who test positive and are symptomatic are required to be isolated in a medical facility until recovery.
Seychellois travellers and persons holding resident permit
- All Seychellois and persons holding resident permit who have spent at least 14 days in a country on the list of permitted countries immediately prior to travel may enter Seychelles with a Health Travel Authorisation ( https://seychelles.govtas.com ) ย and can stay in their own homes and are required to take certain measures for the 14 days after arrival. (See Guidance for Persons Arriving from Overseas Travel published by the department of health).
- Seychellois and persons holding resident permit currently in a country not on the list of permitted countries may apply to enter Seychelles (https://seychelles.govtas.com/) and will be required to undergo facility-based quarantine for a 14-day period and Covid-19 PCR tests at their cost.
- The following additional conditions will apply:
- All travellers must have proof of a valid negative Covid-19 PCR test that is 72 hours or less prior to departure to Seychelles.
- Travellers must present proof of valid negative test results when checking-in for their flight to Seychelles. Airlines will not accept travellers for travel to Seychelles without the test result.
- Aircraft/Airline are not to board any travellers or crew who are symptomatic of Covid-19.
- Exit screening must have been conducted by all incoming passengers.
- Entry screening will be done upon arrival starting with completion of the health check form, symptomatic check and temperature scanning. The passenger may be required to undergo additional tests.
- Seychellois and persons holding resident permit in Seychelles are strongly advised not to travel overseas until further notice. Any person who disregards this advise should note that re-entry into Seychelles will be subject to the conditions above. Where the travel itinerary will require that the person undergoes quarantine on return to Seychelles, the full cost of quarantine and testing must be paid prior to travel.
- Where the Public Health Authority believes that a person may be at increased risk of infection during their travel, the person will be required to undergo facility-based quarantine and testing at their cost.
- Persons travelling and subsequently requiring quarantine should note that the period of quarantine is subject to employment regulations with regard to annual or unpaid leave.
Entry by GOP holders and dependents
- Permission to enter by GOP holders and dependents will first be cleared by Employment and Immigration. Conditions for their travel and entry will be similar to those of Seychellois as defined above.
- Accommodation for the returning GOP holder must be approved by the Public Health Authority.
Entry by sea
- Approval will be conditional on the assessment of risks at the ports visited in the past 30 days prior to application, and the vessel spending at least 21 days at sea from the last port of call before entry into Seychelles.

Border crossing card fees
- Border crossing card - age 15 and over (Valid 10 years): $185.00
- Border crossing card - under age 15; for Mexican citizens if parent or guardian has or is applying for a border crossing card (valid 10 years or until the applicant reaches age 15, whichever is sooner): $15.00
- L visa fraud prevention and detection fee - for visa applicant included in L blanket petition (principal applicant only): $500.00
- The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2016 (Public Law 114-113) increases fees for certain H-1B and L-1 petitioners. Consular sections collect this fee for blanket L-1 visa applications (principal applicant only) filed by petitioners who employ 50 or more individuals in the United States if more than 50 percent of those individuals are in H-1B or L-1 nonimmigrant status: $4,500.00
When the nonimmigrant visa application processing fee is not required:
- Applicants for A, G, C-2, C-3, NATO, and diplomatic visas (defined in 22 CFR 41.26): No Fee
- Applicants for J visas participating in official U.S. Government-sponsored educational and cultural exchanges: No Fee (See Exchange Visitor Visas for further detailed fee information.)
- Replacement of machine-readable visa when the original visa was not properly affixed or needs to be reissued through no fault of the applicant: No Fee
- Applicants exempted by international agreement as determined by Visa Services, including members and staff of an observer mission to United Nations Headquarters recognized by the UN General Assembly, and their immediate families: No Fee
- Applicants travelling to provide charitable services as determined by Visa Services: No Fee
- U.S. government employees travelling on official business: No Fee
- A parent, sibling, spouse or child of a U.S. government employee killed in the line of duty who is traveling to attend the employeeโs funeral and/or burial; or a parent, sibling, spouse, son or daughter of a U.S. government employee critically injured in the line of duty for visitation during emergency treatment and convalescence: No Fee
