Now Cruisin' 12 Months A Year

Helens Deli Image

We specialize in small group tours and deliver a truly unique experience. Cruising through the County in a classic Cadillac with the top down while your favourite tunes play through the speakers is a perfect way to experience the incredible wineries, breweries and extensive sights PEC has to offer.

classic car wine tours

The County covers a huge area and wineries are spread out East to West. While there are many gems hidden in by-the-way spots, we want to maximize your experience and spend most of your times at the wineries themselves rather than driving all over the place. The cars are great don't get me wrong, but you're really here for the wine. In order to get the most bang for your buck we have chosen select wineries grouped around popular accommodations. Leave it all to us, there are no decisions to be made except of course which wine you'd like to try- we pick you up and drop you off and in between you'll hit 4 wineries.

We choose wineries based on location, and also the best possible experience for you to have. What would we want if we were touring the county? Great wine, fantastic tunes, a beautiful car and lots of fun, so that's what you get with us.

Make sure you download your favourite playlists as each of our classic cars comes with a bluetooth speaker to ratchet up the fun factor. Water will be provided during your tour. Come ready to have a ton of fun, enjoy the beauty of Prince Edward County, all from the backseat of one of our classic beauties. Try to keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times, things tend to get a little wild!

Contact us for pricing

Pickups outside our normal radius may be subject to a fuel surcharge.

We can accommodate up to 20 people, and tasting are not included in the tours.

Fill out the following form to pre-book your tour. We will responsd within 24 business hours to confirm your tour.

So one morning I get up at the crack of dawn as usual- I have no idea why but I just can't sleep in, my father was the same.

I clean the kitchen, make my kids and wife breakfast and start thinking of all the times I've been asked his last year, "So how's retirement? ". Now let me tell you nothing makes you feel old as someone saying that to you.

It doesn't help that I listen to music from the past four decades and still get excited about it like a 16 year old in 1964 experiencing the Rolling Stones for the 1st time. I love vintage clothes and cars too. I wasn't meant to be born in 1968- I should've been born in the 40's so I could have enjoyed the 50's and 60's at that time instead of many decades later.

A while back I saw an ad about vintage car tours in Manhattan and it sparked an idea. I have been collecting vintage cars since I was a young man. For nearly a decade I've been living in Prince Edward County, and since I sold my bar/music venue, The Cadillac Lounge in Toronto last summer I've got some time on my hands. I've always been an idea person who flies by the seat of my pants. So now I have some time to figure out what I'd like to do. I'm still involved in the music scene but going at my own pace and with Covid, that's slowed down too. But this thing in Manhattan made so much sense to me- it combines my love of vintage cars, great music and the beauty of where I live and what I love about this area. Prince Edward County is a wonder and I love nothing more than driving around with my wife in our old cars exploring parts of the County I've never been before. It all came together so seamlessly and folks are digging it.

Honestly this doesn't feel like work, it's a pleasure. I've always loved helping to make people happy- I did it in the bar business for 25 years and now I'm doing it again in different ways. I'm not much of a business guy, I didn't go to business school but I've always just treated people the way I would want to be treated and it's worked out well for me. And the fact it allows me an excuse to keep buying vintage cars without my wife rolling her eyes (too much), is a bonus!

Besides the booming business and looking for drivers to help out with the demand of the tours people are seeking I'm also looking a bit down the road. The long game I guess is also to teach my kids work ethic and that their Dad is not some international man of mystery that does nothing but taxi them around to school & play dates. I'm still a cool-rocking'- Daddy driving kick-ass cars trying to spread some joy.

Enjoy the Antique / Classic Car Wine Tours of Napa Valley

Napa Valley almost seems synonymous with vintage. After all, you have vintage wines, family-owned wineries that go back for generations, and historical sites throughout Napa. To stay with that theme, why not enjoy a tour of wine country in a classic, antique car?

Classic Convertible Wine Tours are the premier antique tour limousine service for wine country. Using their 1947 luxury Packard convertibles, they take you around boutique wineries, the ones you do not typically find in the travel guides; and let you explore the backcountry of Napa Valley.

Here are just a few facts to know about this memorable tour:

  • Personal Wine Guide Included – When you book your limousine tour, you are assigned a driver who is also your personal wine guide. Our drivers know the area, take you behind the scenes, let you meet the vintners at the wineries, and help you explore the caves and fabulous wines of Napa Valley.
  • Gourmet Picnic Lunches – During your tour, you will be served a gourmet lunch prepared by their in-house caterers. Your platter includes an array of fine cheeses, fruit, bread, delicious meats, and salads.
  • Restored, Beautiful Vehicles – The vehicles operating on the Classic Convertible Tours are fully restored and include modern-day upgrades. The wrap-around seats allow you and your fellow passengers to ride in comfort. These cars are equipped with automatic transmission, power steering, and updated suspension for a smooth ride.

During the Classic Convertible Tours, you visit art exhibits in Napa Valley, caves, and numerous small boutique wineries—all in the same trip.

While you book your tour of wine country, stay at a boutique hotel that is close to your tour starting point. You will also be in close proximity to other tasting rooms and the excellent eateries of downtown Napa. Napa Valley Hotel and Suites offers luxurious accommodations perfectly paired with the unique atmosphere of wine country.

Book your stay for the Classic Convertible Wine Tour with our hotel by calling us at 707-226-1871 or reserve your Napa Valley hotel room online.

Great time with Classic Convertible Wine Tours. They helped make my Grandpa's 90th an unforgettable experience for him and for us. The most unique, eye-catching rides I've seen in town for any special occasion.

My husband and I took the opportunity recently to ride around in one of these beautiful custom classic convertibles. I can't say enough about how fun it was! So much more than a limo service... this is an experience! Our driver was kind enough to provide some bubbly in beautiful cut glass goblets, and drive us around Boise and Meridian anywhere we wished. I highly recommend! Proms, weddings, wine tours, quinceañeras, a ride to and from dinner or any event, heck... just a ride like we did! I can't say enough about what a wonderful time we had!

Thank you for your review and recommendation! We take great pride in our customizable experiences and look forward to seeing you in one of the classic cars again soon!

We had an amazing experience with classic convertible wine tours! Daniel was our driver, and he is absolutely the best. Not only did he keep us running exactly on time/made sure we made it to all of our appointments, but he also never made us feel rushed, and took the time to take more scenic routes so he could show us other winery's and views. He also consistently scoped out great spots for photos - and took many photos of us! He was kind, thoughtful and funny during the whole weekend. The car was amazing - plenty of room for the four of us, and the blankets were great and kept us cozy. Driving around with the top down - you're able to see so much more of the vineyards/surroundings. I honestly can't recommend this enough. It may be a touch on the expensive side - but well worth it!!

I would highly recommend this experience! Daniel was our driver and he made it extra special for our group. He was well prepared, flexible and was focused on making this trip as memorable as possible for us. We especially loved the picture opportunities! He knew the best photo op spots! If you are going to do wine country, this is the way to do it!

This is definitely the way to see Napa Valley... our driver Daniel was amazing too, such a sweet guy and very thoughtful. The ride came with complimentary champagne and he had blankets for us for the morning ride since it was windy. He took us to 3 vineyards, and lunch was included with our tour. Daniel definitely made the tour a thousand times better! 10/10 recommend!!

This is one of the best things I've ever done in Napa! Met Daniel our driver when he was driving for a bride and groom and thought, I have to do this with my family. Daniel and Dana were so perfect and made the day seem effortless. Tab set up the appointments and got 10 of us all set up at a winery and lunch. If you're going to a winery can't go wrong with doing it in an amazing classic car! Playing great music while sipping champagne in a convertible vintage car Frank Sinatra style, couldn't have been more perfect!

Photo of Jovan V.

Absolutely the best tour EVER! Worth every penny. Our amazing limo driver, Daniel, picked us up promptly at 9:30 a.m and we spent 8 wonderful hours touring Napa Valley. Our 1st stop was Davis Estates Winery. Their wine & food pairing is NOT to be missed. In fact, you should put it #1 on your list as it's the benchmark for how all other wineries should be judged. Daniel was the most engaging and knowledgeable tour guide. He is also THE MOST PATIENT man I've ever met! He took countless photos of our group, every one a perfect memory of the most amazing day of our life. I can't stress enough how great Daniel is as a driver and wine tour guide. We had such a fantastic time, we are already planning our next visit. Special thanks to owner, Tab, who suggested a perfect agenda. In a word, Classic Convertible Wine Tours ROCKS!

Photo of Tatyana G.

This was the most memorable experience ever. Daniel our driver is a great host, super polite and friendly. It took me a while to find a classic car and I am trilled that I did. I appreciate the prompt response from Tab and for the smooth transaction, even thought we had few changes and numerous emails Tab was amazing in response and helpful till the last day. Amazing beyond words, highly recommend!

This is the only way to see the wine country and really engulf yourself in the beauty of it all! The hubby and I purchased a 5 hour tour of Napa with the owner, Tab on 4/9/16.. He is very knowledgeable about the history, wines and dining in the area. The car was absolutely gorgeous! We loved it so much that we are planning to return and bring others with us.

Loved the car!

Our Previous Guests’ Experiences

Tripadvisor reviews.

We appreciated getting an overview of what to look for and expect on the following days. Paul was a great tour guide and really made the trip even more enjoyable.

The best part was driving around Napa in the open-air trolley and hearing our guide Richard give us facts about the land. It was interesting and very scenic. I can’t imagine doing a wine tour on a bus when you can do this instead!

Great way to see multiple wineries in one day without having to plan meals and all the visits ourselves. Wineries were great, food and wine were amazing, the trolley was a fun way to travel.

Definitely recommend it if you are visiting for the first time. It’s a great way to visit a few wineries worry-free!

Mallory Shull

This was my very favorite experience in Napa! The trolley was such a fun way to see more of Napa Valley and truly experience different wineries (and not worry about driving!! :-))

Bordeaux Travel Logistics

Getting to bordeaux, major airports in bordeaux.

Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport (BOD): This is the principal airport serving Bordeaux and the surrounding areas in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Although it’s not the largest, its convenient location just 30 minutes from the city centre makes it the preferred choice for many travelers. Keep a lookout for current flight deals on Kayak for the best rates.

Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS): This is one of the largest airports in France with numerous international flight connections. Though it’s about a two-hour drive to Bordeaux, the extensive connections and shuttle services to Bordeaux make it a practical option.

Nantes Atlantique Airport (NTE): Another option for entering the region, especially for those exploring the greater Bordeaux region. It’s around a three-hour drive to Bordeaux, but the airport offers a number of domestic and international flights.

Arriving from Other Parts of France

France’s high-speed train network, the TGV, makes travelling to Bordeaux from other parts of the country both swift and convenient. The Bordeaux Saint-Jean train station is a major hub that connects the city to other French cities such as Paris, Lyon, and Marseille. This connectivity, combined with the efficiency of the TGV, means you can be sipping Bordeaux’s famous wines just a few hours after leaving Paris.

Getting Around Bordeaux

Public transportation.

Trains: The train system in Bordeaux is well developed, providing reliable connections not only between major cities but also to smaller towns in the region. The trains generally run on time and provide an efficient and economical way to travel.

Buses: For some of the more remote areas or smaller villages, buses are the only available form of public transport. Though not always as punctual as the trains, buses offer routes to areas trains can’t reach.

Renting a car is a wonderful option if you’re keen to discover the picturesque countryside and visit vineyards at your leisure. Remember that non-EU citizens need an International Driving Permit along with their standard driver’s license to drive in France. Also, take note that many city centers in Bordeaux have restricted traffic zones, which are monitored by cameras. Unauthorized entry into these zones can result in fines.

Taxis and Rideshares

Taxis are easily accessible in cities and larger towns. Uber is also available in Bordeaux, providing an additional convenient option for navigating the city.

Cities, Towns and Villages within Bordeaux

The region of Bordeaux, in the southwestern part of France, is famed worldwide for its premium wines and wine-making culture. However, aside from its prestigious vineyards and wine chateaux, Bordeaux is home to a diverse array of cities, towns, and villages, each one bursting with its own unique character, history, and attractions. This section delves into some of the must-visit places within the Bordeaux region, painting a vivid picture of the diverse experiences that await you in this enchanting wine capital of the world.

Bordeaux City

As the region’s capital, Bordeaux City is a harmonious blend of history, culture, and of course, wine. Its city center is a UNESCO World Heritage site, brimming with Gothic cathedrals, grand mansions, and public squares lined with trendy boutiques and bistros. The city is also home to La Cité du Vin, a world-class wine museum that offers an immersive journey into the world of wine. With its central location and excellent transport links, Bordeaux City is a perfect starting point for day trips throughout the region.

Saint-Émilion

Saint-Émilion is a picturesque medieval village known for its eponymous world-class wines. The town’s monolithic church, carved from a limestone cliff, is a sight to behold, while its underground catacombs offer a unique glimpse into the town’s past. The village is also a UNESCO World Heritage site, celebrated for its historic vineyard landscape that has remained intact over the centuries.

The Médoc region, stretching north of Bordeaux City, is an esteemed wine-making area dotted with prestigious wine chateaux. It’s a wonderful place to explore, with lush vineyards, pine forests, and a long sandy coastline perfect for relaxing walks. The region is also famous for the annual Marathon du Médoc, a unique event combining wine tasting and long-distance running.

This quiet, rural area is an idyllic place to escape from the hustle and bustle, and to appreciate the simpler things in life, like a good glass of wine amidst the beauty of nature.

Graves and Sauternes

South of Bordeaux City, the regions of Graves and Sauternes are known for their diverse wines, from crisp whites to sweet dessert wines. These areas boast a rich history, with Graves being the oldest wine region in Bordeaux, and Sauternes home to the prestigious Château d’Yquem.

Arcachon Bay

In fact, you can even book a tour by the coast in Arcachon , that includes pairing oysters with Bordeaux wines. The seaside town of Arcachon, with its charming villas and lively markets, is a delightful destination for food lovers.

What are the best wine tasting experiences in Bordeaux?

Undoubtedly, Bordeaux offers some of the world’s finest wine tours and tastings, owing to its renowned status as one of the premier wine regions globally. The experiences that tend to be most appreciated by visitors greatly vary, depending on personal tastes, interests and of course, budget. This UNESCO-listed medieval town is celebrated for its rich winemaking tradition. #Winetravelers will not only explore renowned wineries and delve into the depths of underground cellars, but also embark on a guided tour of the historic town itself, steeping in its beauty and heritage. Private wine tastings organized by local tour operators can be an excellent option to consider. We highly recommend this private and customizable wine tour offered by Bordeaux Classic Cars . Many renowned estates in Bordeaux offer these personalized experiences that not only offer an exclusive and in-depth look into their wine-making process but also allow you to taste their finest wines in a serene, private setting. For truly secluded and unique wine experiences, consider booking visits to smaller, family-run estates, often found in lesser-known sub-regions of Bordeaux such as Fronsac, Cadillac, Sauternes, Saint-Croix-du-Mont and Canon-Fronsac. These smaller vineyards may not have the fame of the Grand Cru estates, but they offer high-quality wines and an opportunity to learn about winemaking from passionate, dedicated vignerons in a quiet and personal setting. Exploring Bordeaux’s satellite appellations such as Côtes de Bordeaux or Entre-Deux-Mers can also be a good strategy to avoid the crowds. These areas are lesser-known to the general tourist population but are highly respected by wine enthusiasts, and a visit to these regions can provide excellent, crowd-free tastings.

classic car wine tours

What a wonderful day the four of us had! Karl arrived promptly at 10.30am to collect us from our motel. We all immediately relaxed into the comfort of driving around in a Chevy Belair . The humor from our driver Karl and his extensive knowledge of the Margaret River winery area and the more boutique vineyards (we had previously visited the well known ones) was amazing. The lunch stop at the brewery was welcomed by the men, as they needed to wash down the wines of the morning. We even sneaked in a couple of gin tastings too. I would go again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend you tried Belair Affair Classic Car Tour its way cooler than a mini van for sure!

We had such an amazing day with Karl. He picked the four of us up from our doorstep in the morning and we had a whole day of adventure around the South West wine region. The experience of being driven in this beautiful countryside in such a classic car made this one of my favourite trips to date. Relaxing, fun and really exciting. Would not hesitate in recommending Belair Affair for a brilliant day out. Thanks Karl!

CROMWELL & ALEXANDRA BASINS WINE TOURS

The aroma of leather, the bouquet of wine.

Qualmark Accredited Cromwell Classic Car Wine Tours is unique among Central Otago wine tasting tours. This is no whirlwind mini-bus wine tour crammed with strangers, but two to four friends, associates or family travelling in the leather upholstered comfort and style of a classic 1988 300SE Mercedes S-class.

At the wheel is Cromwell Classic Car Wine Tours owner and tour guide Bob Hewitt who takes guests on a leisurely excursion through the Cromwell and Alexandra Basins where over 70% of Central Otago’s vineyards produce world-leading Pinot Noir and other wines.

Inclusive in the Cromwell Classic Car Wine Tours $NZ325 per person package is Mercedes pick up and return to wherever the two to four person group is staying or living in the Wakatipu Basin (Queenstown, Shotover Country, Lake Hayes, Arrowtown), Wanaka (Albert Town, Lake Hawea), Cromwell and Alexandra (Clyde).

Each once-a-day tour features tastings at four wineries and lunch platter. To secure the Qualmark Accredited tour that’s unique amongst Central Otago wine tasting tours simply click ‘Book Now’ on this website. Please select a date 24 hours in advance.

The Cromwell Basin is a tourist destination in itself with a remarkable number of attractions that include Highlands Motorsport Park , The Stoaker Room for wine barrel cooked delights, the start/finish of the Lake Dunstan Trail, Cromwell Heritage Precinct where you’ll find Pinot Junction and Penny Black (for Central Otago’s most amazing cocktails) and for pie lovers, Sanga’s Gourmet Pies is not to be missed. And that’s just scratching the surface.

Separated from the Cromwell Basin by a steep gorge cut by the mighty Clutha/Mata-Au River, New Zealand’s second longest river, the Alexandra Basin is where in the 1860s Central Otago’s first vineyard was planted by French goldminer Jean Feraud.  To this day, his Monte Christo Vineyard is producing high quality wines well worth tasting. While in the Alexandra Basin there’s no chance of losing track of time. Just look up at the giant clock on the hill.

We believe the importance of wines produced in the Cromwell and Alexandra Basins is all too often overshadowed on wine labels by the all-encompassing words: Central Otago

Despite its relatively small geographical size, central otago has a surprisingly wide range of temperature variations, rainfall, sunshine hours, soils, height above sea level, and other factors, that coupled with the art of the wine maker, influence ‘the appearance’, ‘the nose’ and ‘the palate’ of wine., for these reasons, our focus at cromwell classic car wine tours are the cromwell and alexandra basins sub-regions., only around 35km long and about 15km at its widest point, the cromwell basin has central otago’s largest concentration of vineyards and wineries., the alexandra basin is recognised as the world’s southern-most wine sub-region. it is also the home of central otago’s first vineyard., discover our tours.

Things To Do

Classic car week ends with impressive display of automobiles (and fashion).

Cars were lined up on the 18th fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links, competing to be named Best of Show. The vehicles were critiqued for elegance, technical merit and history. (Kyarra Harris -- Monterey Herald)

The weather was perfect for an afternoon of admiring (and judging) the impressive display of both new and classic cars. Thousands turned out to the event, dressed to the nines, to see which car owner would be granted the prestigious title of “Best of Show.”

Adults weren't the only ones enjoying the day on the fairway at Concours D'Elegance. Families and children of all ages took part in the festivities taking pictures of, and with their favorite cars. (Kyarra Harris -- Monterey Herald)

Fritz Burkard of Zug, Switzerland became the first Swiss man to win the Best of Show with his 1934 Bugattie Type 59. It also marked the first time an unrestored preservation car has won. The car is entirely original and heavily worn.

The car was one of many parked on Pebble Beach Golf Links’ 17th and 18th fairways with an interesting story. For example, Gordon Logan’s 1940 Packard convertible was supposed to debut at the Paris Auto Show in 1940 but was delayed by the war. Packard moved the car around the country to various dealerships in France until it was sold to MGM Studios. It starred in various movies including the 1953 Western film, “Blowing Wind.”

Before being purchased by Logan last year, the car had lived many lives, including being owned by a professional Ice Capades skater, being driven through a blizzard in Oklahoma and traveling across the country multiple times to different owners.

“It’s always wonderful to be here, anytime you can be at Pebble Beach and show a car is special,” said Logan.

First-time Classic Car Week attendee Stacy Sullivan was impressed by the prestige of not only the vehicles on display, but the people, too. Walking through the rows of cars, Sullivan saw “so many gorgeous cars and gorgeous people,” she said.

The beauty of the hundreds of vehicles parked on the resort was matched only by the elegant fashion Sunday’s guests arrived in. Hundreds of floral, floor-length sundresses and intricate tea hats covered the fairways and provided more to admire.

As the climax of Classic Car Week, the Concours “is the culmination of a really fun week,” said Sullivan.

While it’s easy to get distracted by the fashion, ultimately what everyone is there for is to know which vehicle is considered “Best of Show” in one of the world’s most prestigious car shows. Among other things, judges look for technical merit, style and history.

“We just judge purely on design and the emotional appeal of the vehicle,” said Michael Simcoe, honorary judge and vice president of global design at General Motors. According to Simcoe, the job of an honorary judge is different from that of a regular judge. Instead of looking for point scoring on originality or style, honorary judges look out for the appearance and elegance of the car and if it delivers on the promise of what the car represents.

Though it doesn’t look like a traditional race car, the 1936 Delahaye 135 S made by Figoni et Falaschi has proved itself as both reliable and stylish.

It was one of six bodies that was sent to Delahaye and used for race cars, according to Alan Beech, who worked on the restoration. The car has an aluminum body and French racing engine and is now used as a daily driver.

To prove its reliability, the car was driven to Big Sur and back during Thursday’s Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance. “It did terrific, it loves to run instead of just idling,” said Beach. “We had a fun time out there, we saw the coastline (and) really enjoyed it … we’re happy we’re here.”

The rows of cars lined up perfectly equidistant so each vehicle gets its own moment wouldn’t be possible without field hosts like Lloyd Watts. A volunteer for the last seven years, Watts said “I love it so much I keep coming back.”

Watts is also a Car Week entrant, winning “First in Class” with his 1970 BMW 2800 CS at Thursday’s Legends of the Autobahn event. “It’s the life, it’s a great way to spend a week,” said Watts.

From classic to exotic cars, the cars in pristine condition and the ones collecting dust, Lloyd believes there is a Car Week event for everyone. “It doesn’t matter if you come here to the Concours d’Elegance or if you go to the Concours d’Lemons, it’s all fun,” said Watts.

Judges also look for “originality and authenticity on the technical side because it’s important cars are correct,” said Peter Larsen, judge and selection committee member. “When we look at cars, we’re celebrating them as historical objects that have come down to us and it’s not our job to paint them in strange colors or put in upholstering that didn’t exist when the car was made.”

With an occasion as grandiose as Car Week, preparation is no joke. “Concours Sunday is the single most important day of the year,” said Larsen, a long-time car aficionado. “It starts and it’s over and bang … the work for next year starts basically Monday.”
