This trek begins in Bhaje village. Follow the mud trail out of the village. This is mostly a flat walk. The fort walls are clearly visible from the trail. After 4 km, the trail splits. The one to the left goes to Visapur, and the one to the right leads to Lohagad. Take the trail to the left. From here, the trail begins to ascend gradually.

Visapur has been one of my favourite monsoon treks even before it became famous so when I decided to do Lohagad trek I happily planned Visapur fort in the afternoon. From Lohagad base I took my bike off roading on the rough road to Gaimukh Khind base about 2 kms away. From the huge crowds at Lohagad, Visapur feels like a totally secluded place.

A day trip to the twin forts: Lohagad and Visapur
Choosing between the two forts was difficult. On the recommendations of the locals we chose Lohagad (translated to Iron Fort), as the views from Lohagad was much better than that of Visapur. Also, the former is a bigger fort the later. Trek to Lohagad was not very difficult. It had stairs all the way making climbing easy.

Day 1 Reach Hubli & Start to Gokarna. Reach Hubli and start to Vibhuthi waterfalls after a quick breakfast break. There is a hike in thick jungle for about 500 metres to reach the waterfalls. Later post Lunch,visit Muresdeshwar Temple & Mangrove Broadway walk and Go for Boating at Honnarvar Backwaters. Have dinner and head back to our stay.
