Wenn FAHNENFLUCHT jemals ein weichgespültes Gute-Laune-Album herausbringt, wissen wir, dass wir es als Gesellschaft geschafft haben. Wir haben unsere Probleme überwunden, Rassismus zerstört, Kapitalismus besiegt und alle werden gleich behandelt. Solange das nicht passiert ist, hält uns FAHNENFLUCHT auch weiterhin wütend den Spiegel vor. Seit ihrem Debütalbum im Jahr 2000 geht die Band dahin, wo es weh tut. Den Ursprung haben die Band und viele der Mitglieder am Niederrhein. Doch statt schnoddrigen Dorfpunk gab es bei FAHNENFLUCHT schon immer Politpunk, angepasst der laut und weit übers ganze Land hinweg zu hören ist. Es gibt keinen einzigen Grund bei Antifaschismus leise zu sein. Und solange braucht es eben eine Band wie FAHNENFLUCHT mit ihrem kompromisslosen, intelligenten Punkrock, der nicht nur die Ohren am Puls der Zeit hat, sondern auch beide Fäuste. Das ist konstruktive, wohldurchdachte und konsequente System-, Politik-, Kapitalismusund Gesellschaftskritik ganz ohne moralischen Zeigefinger, dafür immer mit Hand und Fuß. Das ist keine Antihaltung aus Punk-Dogmen heraus. FAHNENFLUCHT sind gegen Schubladendenken und passen selbst in keine. Sie schlagen genau da ein, wo sie gebraucht werden: topaktuell, relevant und punktgenau. Dafür sorgen kluge Texte, verpackt in aggressiven Gesang, nach vorne getrieben von melodischen Gitarren-Riffs und einem energischen Schlagzeug. Der Sound schlägt dabei gerne mal in Richtung Hardcore aus, ohne jemals an Klarheit zu verlieren. Die Jungs wissen, was sie wie zu sagen haben und schaffen es, in ihrer unverkennbaren Handschrift sogar in ruhigeren, experimentellen Liedern eine verdammt laute Botschaft zu transportieren. Der globale Krisenmodus ist nicht erst seit gestern zum Dauerzustand geworden. Die Hoffnungen, die großen Probleme unserer Gesellschaft zu lösen, werden kleiner und solange wird es auch kein fröhlich-unbeschwertes FAHNENFLUCHT-Album geben können. Aber aufgeben? Niemals.

FAHNENFLUCHT - Der geklaute Albumtitel

Wow! Ist zwar nicht gerade neu, was die Herren hier abliefern, aber für alle Sympathisanten des rauhen 80er Deutschpunk ist das hier ein Fest! Bei Songtiteln wie "Ziviler Ungehorsam" oder "Hausbesetzerlied" denkt man natürlich an Pathos der unteren Schublade, dennoch gibt´s hier mit z.B. "Reagieren" echte Knaller zu hören. Textlich ist das ganze auch nicht ganz so schlimm parolenmässig geraten und als musikalische Referenzpunkte fallen mir spontan die BAFFDECKS und die alten 1.MAI ´87 ein. Im Info steht was von "Ohrwurmqualitäten" und "Pogohärte" und das wird wohl so richtig sein. Checkt einfach mal www.suppenkazper.de

K.O. System CD

Schneller Deutschpunk, der kontinuierlich nach vorne gebolzt wird, mir aber auf Dauer zu eintönig wird. Die Band aus Duisburg bringt teilweise extrem politische Texte - beispielsweise der "Chill-Out Song", der sich auch als "Lied für Hamburg" versteht und ganz eindeutig Position bezieht. Teilweise kommt das dann ein bisschen arg platt rüber, trotzdem kann man der Band kein Parolengedresche vorwerfen. Die Jungs packen zudem gerne allgemeine Themen in ihre Lieder und vergessen nicht, augenzwinkernd Kritik an allerlei Dingen zu üben. Musikalisch ist es leider nicht meine Tasse Bier, da dieser Deutschpunk arg martialisch rüberkommt. Hätten FAHNENFLUCHT eine stärkere Metal-Kante, würden sie wie DRITTE WAHL klingen - das dürfte als Vergleich mit einer durchaus beliebten Band ja ausreichen. (42:00) (04/10)

Wer Wind sät ... CD

Mit ihrer dritten "echten" eigenen CD hat sich die Band aus dem Großraum Duisburg sehr gesteigert: Der metallisch angehauchte Deutschpunk wirkt noch wuchtiger und druckvoller, die Texte sind politischer und durchdachter. Musikalisch spricht mich die Mischung aus Kraftmeierei, Hardcore und aufgesetzter Härte nach wie vor nicht an; es ist aber festzustellen, dass die fünf Jungs den Mix saugut hinkriegen. Ein idealer Soundtrack für all die Leute, die DRITTE WAHL oder BAFFDECKS - hier passt sogar der Sängervergleich - mochten und von EXPLOITED-Platten der neueren Generation nicht genug bekommen können. Textlich ist die Platte sogar für mich ansprechend: "Das sind die Helden der neuen Leichtigkeit / Eine neue deutsche Welle stellt sich der Vergangenheit / Täter werden Opfer, Geschichte wird gemacht / Die Saat fürs nächste Mal ist lang schon ausgebracht." Angesichts der Dumpfheit, mit der viele der neueren Deutschpunk-Bands ihre Stücke textlich anfüllen, kann FAHNENFLUCHT in dieser Hinsicht absolut überzeugen. Respekt! Weiter Weiter

FAHNENFLUCHT sind aus dem deutschen Politikpunk eigentlich nicht mehr wegzudenken: kompromisslose Texte, treibende Instrumentals und wütender Gesang sind mittlerweile seit über 21 Jahren und sechs Studioalbum das Markenzeichen der Punks vom Niederrhein und ihre Beständigkeit gibt der Band recht, dies können sie verdammt gut. Somit ist es wenig überraschend, dass auch das neueste Werk der Band keinen allzu großen Bruch mit der bisherigen Diskografie darstellt. Dynamischer Punk, gemischt mit Hardcore-Anleihen und viel Wut bestimmen die Marschrichtung bei „Weiter Weiter“ und seien wir mal ehrlich, wir sind doch aktuell alle wütend. Klammert man die Pandemie einmal aus, stehen wir noch immer vor einem Rechtsruck der Gesellschaft und einem sterbenden Planeten. So handelt „Welt“ von den Folgen des Spätkapitalismus wie Umweltverschmutzung, Raubbau und dem Klimawandel, während sich „Vater Unser“ mit der Ursache toxischer Männlichkeit auseinandersetzt, was auch der deutschen Punk-Szene erfrischend guttut. „Weiter Weiter“ ist ein facettenreiches Album, bei dem Fans von Geschwindigkeit und Aggressionen, aber auch mal der einen oder anderen hymnenhaften Passage auf ihre Kosten kommen. FAHNENFLUCHT sind auch im 21. Jahr noch extrem relevant.

Schwarzmaler

Deutschpunk, da war doch mal was? Kritisch, provokant, energiegeladen – gerne destruktiv. Was davon noch übrig ist und wie man auch in 2011 ein fieser Stachel im Arsch der Gesellschaft sein kann, beweisen neben einigen wenigen Protagonisten, diese fünf Jungs aus der Gegend um Duisburg. „Augen auf und durch, es gibt noch viel zu tun / Auf Frustration und Ohnmacht sollten wir uns nicht ausruhen!“ („Augen auf!“) eröffnet, während „... so lange ich noch kann, geb ich keine Ruhe“ („Taub, stumm & blind“) einen ungebremsten Reigen aus zwölf Tracks einen ohne Ausfall beschließt. Einziges Manko ist die Rastlosigkeit der Platte. Kaum ein Ruhepol, an dem das Besungene verarbeitet, verdaut werden kann. Zwischen Selbstzweifel (Titeltrack, „Leben ist tödlich“), Wahlversprechen („Alle vier Jahre“), der Suche nach Freiheit und dem Niederreißen gesellschaftlicher „Mauern“, scheut man sich nicht vor Wahrheiten und unterlegt das mit metallischem Uptempo-Punkrock, für dessen Aufwärmphase es ganzer drei Vorgängeralben bedurfte. Es scheint, als hätte jemand der Band endlich die Ketten gelöst und ein Vitamin-Wut-Gemisch gespritzt. Überlegt kritisch, motivierend und temporeich brennen sich „Schwarzmaler“, „Was tun, wenn’s brennt“, „Insel Freiheit“, „Blut“ und der Opener gnadenlos ins Gehör. Eingängige Harmonien, druckvolle Drum-Beats, hymnische Refrains sind neben dem rauhbeinigen Gesang die Markenzeichen der Band, die hier zu einem modernen, kompakten Album zwischen alten TOXOPLASMA, SLIME („Schweineherbst“) und BAFFDECKS (Gesang) führen. Ganz stark! Jetzt ist Hamburg gefordert, denn sonst teilen sich Rostock und Duisburg den nationalen Punkrock-Thron. Grauzonen-Siechtum und Web-Revoluzzer aufgepasst: „Meine Seele brecht ihr nicht!“

Die Frage, warum „Schwarzmaler“ noch mal (und ohne jegliche Veränderung) in die Manege geworfen wird, erübrigt sich, ob der aktuellen Weltlage und das hierzulande sonderbare Verständnis von Volk und Identität. Songs wie „Was tun wenn’s brennt“ oder „Insel Freiheit“ passten in 2011 – passen heute noch besser. Leider. Treibender, rastloser Sound, bissige Texte. Politpunk mit Metalkante at it’s very best. Nah am Referenzalbum der mittleren Neunziger, „Schweineherbst“ von SLIME. Unbedingt hörenswert. Ich schließe mit einem Auszug aus Ox #95: „Deutschpunk, da war doch mal was? Kritisch, provokant, energiegeladen – gerne destruktiv. Was davon noch übrig ist und wie man auch 2011 [2015] ein fieser Stachel im Arsch der Gesellschaft sein kann, beweisen neben einigen wenigen Protagonisten, diese fünf Jungs aus der Gegend um Duisburg ... Eingängige Harmonien, druckvolle Drum-Beats, hymnische Refrains sind neben dem raubeinigen Gesang die Markenzeichen der Band ... Ganz stark!“

Angst und Empathie

Voilà, da ist es: Das Album zur Flüchtlingskrise. „Toleranz, das große Wort in diesem kleinen Land, das vor Kraft kaum gehen kann [...] unser Bilderbuch hat seine braunen Seiten“ („Lichterketten“) oder „Wo sind die Grenzen, deiner Toleranz [...] deiner Akzeptanz [...] für mich sind sie erreicht, wenn die Dummen immer lauter schreien“ („Grenzen“) und so weiter und genau so fort! 13 Mal messerscharfer Deutschpunk. Bissig, aggressiv, pointiert. „Wie erklärt man einem Kind, dass Menschen, Menschen töten, wenn der Hass in uns gewinnt [...] einem selbst die Worte fehlen“ („Kind“). Wut trifft Verzweiflung. „Hoffnung“ ist mein Highlight einer Platte, die kaum zur Ruhe kommt – die aufwühlt, aneckt, gnadenlos nach vorn geht. Die zeitgemäße Version von „Schweineherbst“ (SLIME, 1993). Tolles Artwork – rundum überzeugend!

Beissreflex / K.O. System / Wer Wind sät ...

FAHNENFLUCHT sind eine relevante und wichtige Band, musikalisch und vor allem inhaltlich. Nicht nur wegen ihrer klaren Kante gegen Rechts, aber in Zeiten wie den aktuellen, natürlich umso mehr. „Eine ganz normale Story“ („Wer Wind sät ...“, 2006) könnte aktueller nicht sein. Umso sinniger ist daher der Rerelease der ersten drei Alben der Rheinberger Band. Alle drei Longplayer sind erstmals überhaupt auf Vinyl erhältlich, kommen dazu in schicken Farben (red, milky, yellow) und in wertiger Aufmachung daher, und sind jeweils auf 500 Stk. limitiert. Am Blick zurück lässt sich die Entwicklung des charakteristischen Bandsounds, vom ruppigen Haudrauf-Deutschpunk („Beissreflex“, 2000) hin zum messerscharfen, metallischen Punkgewitter neuerer Releases, sehr gut erkennen. Folglich bietet „Wer Wind sät ...“ die musikalisch interessantesten Songs. Es ist einfach das bis dato ausgefeilteste Werk. Nicht mehr so ungestüm, dennoch kämpferisch und wütend wie selten zuvor. Deutschpunk-Fans kommen um diese Trilogie nicht herum, Fans der Rheinberger sowieso nicht. Allein schon, um die Evolution „ihrer“ Band noch mal komprimiert nachzuhören. Und in puncto Aktualität haben die alten Songs (leider) nichts an Relevanz eingebüßt.

„Der Planet wird sich auch ohne uns drehen“, singen FAHNENFLUCHT auf „Weiter Weiter“ in „Welt“. Sie schreien querdenkenden Idioten und rechten Vaterlandsverteidigern in „Bewegung“ und „Kein Teil“ ins Gesicht. Die organisierte Religion bekommt auch noch ihr Fett weg („Vater unser“). Und überhaupt liegt alles irgendwie in Schutt und „Asche“ und voller „Trümmer“. Sprich: Alles wie gehabt beim Quartett vom Niederrhein. Und das bedeutet: Alles Punk- und Hardcore-technisch gut, während draußen vieles schlecht ist und eine Band wie diese hier singen und fordern und Wut kanalisieren und Mut machen lässt. Nach wie vor gut, dass es FAHNENFLUCHT gibt.

Cyndi Lauper is nearing the end of her touring career — but not before one more big run of shows.

On Monday, June 3, the Grammy winner, 70, announced her massive upcoming Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour, a 23-date string of arena concerts in celebration of her decades-long career. Special guests for the trek will be revealed at a later date.

Lauper's first major headlining tour since 2013, the run kicks off Friday, Oct. 18 at the Bell Centre in Montreal and makes stops in cities including Toronto, Detroit, Boston, New York City, Nashville, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and more before wrapping Thursday, Dec. 5 at the United Center in Chicago.

Tickets first become available through an artist presale on Tuesday, June 4, with additional presales running throughout the week before the general onsale launches on Friday, June 7 at 10 a.m. local time. Lauper previously teased the idea of a farewell tour in an October 2022 interview with PEOPLE. "I might go out on tour one more time — big time — and maybe be the headliner," she said at the time.

Over the past decade, the "True Colors" performer has opened for artists including Rod Stewart ,  Cher  and Blondie. "I've had the privilege of working with a lot of wonderful people, but I gotta see," added Lauper, who noted she'd "like to" tour in celebration of her debut album, She's So Unusual , marking its 40th anniversary in 2023.

The tour announcement comes shortly before Let the Canary Sing , a new documentary about Lauper's life and career, is released on Paramount+ on June 4.

At the film's Tribeca Festival premiere last year, she opened up to PEOPLE about the inspiration behind her signature hit, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," originally recorded by Robert Hazard.

"I was trying really hard to make an anthem that would inspire women and open the doors to all women," said Lauper in June 2023. "Not just one group of women, but every little girl could see herself and realize that she too could have a joyful experience in life."

How Kendrick Lamar Helped Griff Land an Opening Slot on Taylor Swift's Eras Tour (Exclusive)

"I was dying," Griff tells PEOPLE, recalling the moment Swift mentioned she'd "love" to have her open for her on tour

Nine months after Taylor Swift posted “damn griff i love this one” on her Instagram Story — linking to Griff ’s catchy song “Vertigo” — the English singer has landed an opening slot at an Eras Tour show in London. 

Although Swift, 34, just recently announced Griff , 23, as an opener for that June 22 show, this tour news has been a long time coming, brewing since November 2022, Griff reveals to PEOPLE.

“I actually bumped into Taylor at a Kendrick Lamar concert in London. It was so surreal to see her there,” Griff recalls about interacting with Swift before Lamar’s Big Steppers Tour show a year and a half ago.

“We spoke a little and I was congratulating her on everything, and she mentioned then at some point she would love to have me [as an opener on tour one day],” Griff continues. “I was dying.”

The “Miss Me Too” singer-songwriter, who had previously met Swift backstage at the 2021 BRIT Awards , couldn't believe her ears. 

“Well, I wasn’t totally sure I heard her correctly at first, but I watched the whole Kendrick show grinning ear to ear,” Griff explains.

Ten months after that fateful run-in at Lamar’s concert, Griff woke up to Swift’s Instagram Story that encouraged Swifties to listen to “Vertigo.”

Now, Griff is most excited to perform “Vertigo” at the Eras Tour London night two because “knowing Taylor likes that one feels pretty cool.”

When revealing the opening acts for her London shows, Swift said she “chose artists whose music I love listening to, and I can’t wait for them to add an extra jolt of excitement to our shows at Wembley Stadium in June.”

Griff quickly reacted to the tour announcement in an Instagram caption : “If you know me you know this might be one of the most surreal things to say but TAYLOR SWIFT HAS INVITED ME ON THE ERAS TOUR!!!!!!!!!! 8 yr old me who had fearless on repeat wouldn’t believe this. So unbelievably grateful to Taylor for all the love she’s shown me and my music.”

Griff tells PEOPLE that being handpicked by Swift “means so much.”

“It's pretty wild,” she adds. “ Fearless was the first album I remember falling in love with as a kid. I'm always just so inspired by how she can have such a huge career but stay so close to the songwriting process.”

Griff hasn’t attended the Eras Tour yet and has also refrained from watching The Eras Tour film in order to experience it in person first.

“I wanted to hold out to watch the real thing,” explains Griff, whose favorite song from the 14-time Grammy winner’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department , is “But Daddy I Love Him.”

Griff adds, “I’m pretty excited for ‘ Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me’ and also ‘August’ — I just love that song so much.”

“August” was part of the original Eras Tour setlist when the tour kicked off in March 2023, and it still holds a spot on the updated 46-song setlist.

The other two tracks were added in May 2024 as part of the setlist’s seven-song TTPD era, which Swift included after releasing TTPD in April and has since dubbed the “Female Rage: The Musical” section of the Eras Tour .

Griff is “very excited” to be part of the June 22 show.

“I’m just forever eternally grateful to Taylor and to all the Swifties that have been so welcoming when it was announced,” Griff says. “I can’t really believe its happening, I love Taylor!”

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.
