Day 01: Arrival in Jodhpur Upon your arrival in Jodhpur, our representative will greet you and escort you to the hotel for getting relaxed. Later, proceed for exploring the most beautiful Mandore Garden which is located at a distance of approximately 9 kilometers from the city center. Mandore Garden is a collection of temples, high-rock terraces, memorials, and museum. If time permits, you may explore the bustling market streets for shopping the best and traditional artifacts. Stay overnight in Jodhpur. Important Note: - Mandore Garden remains closed on Fridays.

Day 02: Jodhpur-Jaisalmer After having breakfast in the morning, leave for exploring the Blue City of Rajasthan including Mehrangarh Fort – one of the largest forts of Rajasthan, Jaswant Thada – a cenotaph built by Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur, and Umaid Bhawan Palace – the most beautiful royal palace is one of the world’s private residence. In the evening, check out from hotel and then proceed towards the most popular desert city of Rajasthan – Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is widely known as the Golden City of Rajasthan because of its magnificent golden sandstone structures and golden sand. Day 03: Jaisalmer sightseeing Post breakfast, you will leave for exploring the major attractions of Jaisalmer wherein you will visit Jaisalmer Fort – the world’s only lively fort which resides 2/3rd of the old cities population; Havelis – the royal havelis of Jaisalmer includes Patwon ki Haveli, Nathmal ji ki Haveli, and Salim singh ki Haveli; Gadisar Lake – an artificial lake surrounded by ruins, cenotaphs, temples, and ghats; Bada Bagh – the most splendid place which houses several cenotaphs of legends, maharajas, or royal families. In the evening you will leave for enjoying the desert safari in the Golden Sand dunes. 4 Places You Can't Miss On A Jodhpur To Jaisalmer Road Trip

One of the most memorable journey which I took in the recent time is Jodhpur - Jaisalmer road trip. No doubt that this route is a perfect illustration of experiencing the real beauty of Rajasthan when you drive through Golden sand fields and periodic villages.

And exploring scenic yet lesser known places on your way can be an icing on the cake. Let me take you through 4 such places which I explored during this road trip:

Located at a distance of 9 KM from Jodhpur, Mandore is regarded as the former capital of Maharajas of Marwar, which was later abandoned for security reasons before moving to Mehrangarh Fort. It is said that before Jodhpur came into existence, the capital of Rathore clan of Rajputs that held sway over the Marwar region of Rajputana (early name of Rajasthan) was at Mandore (10 kms north of Jodhpur city).

It is believed that the ancient city was received as a dowry by a Rathore chief Chundaji who married a Parihar princess. Now this historic place is known for its garden, ancient temple and a ruined fort. The ruined Mandore fort, with its thick and tall walls was built in several stages and was once a fine piece of architecture. A huge ruined temple is a highlight of the fort. The outer wall of the temple depicts finely carved botanical designs, birds and animals. This place is a perfect seclusion from otherwise crowded city life.

Osian , also known as Osiyan is an ancient town which is located at a distance of 65 Kms on way to Jaisalmer. It is known for its ancient and ruined shrines which date back to centuries. It is said that the city of Osiyan was founded by Utpaladeva, a Rajput Prince belonging to Pratihara Dynasty and was named as Ukesha or Upkeshapur.

During the Pratihara dynasty, Osian is believed to be the major religious and cultural centre of the Mewar Kingdom. Major number of shrines got devastated with time; however the place is still left with few shrines that still unfold the royal legacy which the place had once. The architectural structures of Jain temple and Sachayi Mata are the sites in Osian, which is regarded as a prominent pilgrimage site for Oswal Jain community. Due to its erotic sculptures in few remains of the temples, Osian is also recognised as the " Khajuraho of Rajasthan"

Khichan Village

Khichan Village lies 150 km from Jodhpur in the northern part of the Thar Desert in Rajasthan. It is known as the village of ‘Migrating birds’ where you get to witness the unique symbolic existence of love between man and birds every year.

Welcomed with the mesmerising view of migrating birds flying high in the sky, Khichan comes alive every winter with the congregation of over 20,000 Demoiselle Cranes, who fly from their breeding grounds on the plains of Mongolia . These migrating birds arrive by end of August in Khichan and stay on till the end of March.

Ramdevra Temple

12 KM of Pokhran is a village called Ramdevra which falls under Jaisalmer district and has a temple which is dedicated to the saint Ramdevra who was considered to be the reincarnation of Lord Krishna by the Hindus. Ramdevra is apparently recognised as one place where you will spot abundant of Hindu and Muslim followers under one roof to pay respect to one deity who is believed to be a living form of god that worked towards equality and enrichment of human kinds. It is believed that Baba Ramdevji took Samadhi in 1459 A.D at the age of 33 and a temple was built around by King Ganga Singh of Bikaner in 1931 A.D. He was born as Ramdev in the household of Ajmalji in the Tomar Rajput. There is also Ramdeora Fair in Ramdevra which is held in the months of August and February and is attended by devotees in large numbers from all over India .

Cancellation Policy & Payment Terms

• If the Guest decides to cancel the tour for any reason whatsoever then s/he shall give a written application to the Company within specified time limit along with original receipt issued by the Company. Such cancellation will attract cancellation charges stated hereunder.
• Cancellation charges will be calculated on gross tour cost and the cancellation charges shall depend on date of departure and date of cancellation
• Cancellation charges for any type of transport ticket are applicable as per the rules of the concerned authority.
• Air tickets issued on special fares are NON REFUNDABLE and Guest shall bear cancellation charges.
• Any refund payable to the Guest will be paid after the Company receives refund from the respective authorities. The Company deducts processing charges from the refund to be paid to the Guest.

Payment Terms

• Airlines/Room up-gradation and complimentary will not be entertained during the tour unless if specified at the time of booking.
• There is no refund for any services not utilized during the tour.
• Security deposit is required either in cash or credit card by hotels which is refundable provided no room incidentals are incurred. This security deposit is not included in this quote and must be paid by the guests/corporate directly to the hotel when checking in.
• Guests are advised not to keep valuables in the coach/vehicle while sightseeing. The Company shall not be responsible for loss of valuables from the coach / vehicle . If the coach / vehicle is accidentally or otherwise damaged by the Guest, s/he will be required to pay compensation for the same.

Day 1 in Jodhpur

Day 1 “Welcome to Jodhpur”

On your arrival in Jodhpur, our representative (driver) will be available at Jodhpur Railway Station/ Airport to pick you up and drop at the hotel booked for you for 2 nights.

Later in the day, we have planned a sightseeing taxi tour of Jodhpur, in which you will visit:

• Clock tower market & Sadar Market.

By 8-10 pm you can plan your dinner & later driver will drop you back at the hotel.

Day 2 in Jodhpur

2 Lake Pichola

At a distance of 2.5 km from Udaipur City Railway Station, Pichola Lake is an artificial fresh water lake situated in the heart of Udaipur city in Rajasthan. Surrounded by hills, gardens, temples and havelis, Lake Pichola is one of the most beautiful lakes in India and a popular tourist attraction in Udaipur. Pichola Lake was built in 1362 AD by Pichhu Banjara, a gypsy Banjara tribesman who transported grain, during the reign of Maharana Lakha. Later, Maharana Udai Singh, impressed by the charm of this lake with the backdrop of green hills, founded the city of Udaipur on the banks of the lake and also enlarged the lake by constructing a stone masonry dam in the Badi Pol region. Lake Pichola is one of the several contiguous lakes, developed over the last few centuries in and around Udaipur city. Named after nearby Picholi village, Pichola Lake is nearly 4 km long and 3 km wide. The lake has a surface area of about 696 hectares .....

3 Bagore Ki Haveli

At a distance of 2 km from City Palace and 3 km from City Railway Station, Bagore Ki Haveli is an old royal building situated in front of the Lake Pichola at Gangori Ghat in Udaipur. This is one of the top places to visit in Udaipur. Built by Amir Chand Badwa, the Chief Minister of Mewar Royal Court, it dates back to the 18th century. Maharana Shakti Singh of Bagore, who resided in the haveli, incorporated three storeys to the main structure, in 1878 AD. This ancient edifice has more than hundred rooms and displays delicate carvings and glass work. After being deserted for 50 years post-independence, the haveli was finally handed over to the West Zone Cultural Centre in 1986 for restoration. Today, the Haveli looks glorious and also houses a museum in its premises with paintings and costumes of the Royal Kings. The interiors of the Haveli are embellished with intricate and fine mirror work. One can also see the private quarters of the royal ladies, their bath areas, dressing .....

4 Jagdish Temple

At a distance of 3 km from Udaipur City Railway Station, Jagdish Temple is a Hindu temple located in the City Palace complex of Udaipur . This is one of the famous temples of Udaipur and among the top Udaipur attractions. Sri Jagdish Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Laxmi Narayan), the preserver of the Universe. The temple was built by Maharana Jagat Singh with an estimated cost of 1.5 million rupees in 1651 AD. It is celebrated for being the largest temple in the city of Udaipur. The gateway of this temple can be sited at a distance of 150 meters from the Bara Pol of the City Palace. The temple was originally called the temple of Jagannath Rai but is now called Jagdish Temple. This temple is built in the Indo-Aryan style of architecture. At a distance of 12 km from Udaipur City Railway Station and 10 km from City Palace, the Monsoon Palace, formerly known as the Sajjangarh Palace, is a hilltop royal palace overlooking the Fateh Sagar and Pichola Lakes in the city of Udaipur . The Palace is named Sajjangarh after Maharana Sajjan Singh (1874-1884) of the Mewar Dynasty, who built it in 1884 AD. He was the 72nd ruler of the Mewar Dynasty. The Place reflects the rich cultural and history of Mewar Kingdom. It was built primarily to watch the monsoon clouds; hence, it is popularly known as Monsoon Palace. The palace, built with white marble, is located on Bansdara peak of the Aravalli hill range at an altitude of 944 m (3100 feet). At a distance of 8.5 km from Udaipur City Railway Station and 7 km from Sajjangarh, Shilpgram is a rural arts and crafts complex situated near Havala village in Udaipur city. Also known as The Craft Village or The Artisan's Village, Shilpgram is one of the best places to visit in Udaipur . Inaugurated by Rajiv Gandhi in 1989, the rural arts and crafts complex is spread over an undulating terrain of 70-acres of land and is surrounded by Aravali mountain range. Shilpgram is an ethnographic museum that depicts the lifestyles of the folk and tribal people of the region. The main purpose of setting up Shilpgram is to increase the knowledge and awareness of the rural arts and crafts for the younger generation. At a distance of 6 km from Udaipur City Railway Station and 6 km from City Palace, Sahelion Ki Bari or Garden of Maidens is a major garden located on the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake in Udaipur. Sahelion Ki Bari was built by Maharana Sangram Singh in the 18th century. The garden was laid for a group of 48 young women attendants who accompanied a princess to Udaipur as part of her dowry. At a distance of 6 km from Udaipur City Railway Station and 5 km from Udaipur City Palace, Fateh Sagar Lake is an artificial lake situated besides the entrance to Moti Magri Hill and to the north of Lake Pichola in Udaipur city of Rajasthan. Named after Maharana Fateh Singh, Fateh Sagar Lake was initially constructed by Maharana Jai Singh in 1678 AD. Confirmation Policy

• The booking confirmation email is sent to the traveler’s registered email address within 24 business hours, after the payment is done.
• In any unfavourable circumstances, if the booked slots are not available before the confirmation email is sent, then other available slots shall be offered & booked as per the traveler’s consent and an updated email will be sent to the traveler’s registered email address .

Know Before You Go

• In case of private booking, the minimum number of people required is 2.
• Any meals; other than the ones mentioned under the inclusions, will be considered as an exclusion of the package.
• Entry fee to the monuments and camera charges are not included in the package.
• Any kind of activity not mentioned in the activities section will be considered a part of exclusions only.
• Any personal expenses like shopping, porter charges, tips or rewards, laundry, meals or drinks other than specified etc. will not be accommodated in the package cost.
• Price mentioned shall vary during the seasonal or special dates such as Diwali, Dussehra, Christmas and New Year weeks.
• Any additional cost occurrence happening due to bad weather conditions, flight cancellation, insurrection etc are not included into the package.
• Applicable GST to the booking amount will be charged.
• In case of addition of new member to a booked package, the applicable difference amount should be borne by the client depending upon the amendment in the package.
• In tour packages, children with the age 8 years and more will be considered Adults only.
• Package price may fluctuate subject to any amendments in services/hotels.
• Hotel bookings are subjected to their availability, and will be booked accordingly. In case of unavailability, a similar category accommodation will be provided to the traveler.
• In case of any irregular disturbance or unfortunate conditions such as bad weather, insurrection/political unrest etc; we as an organization reserve the right to reorganize the planned itinerary without making any changes to the duration and quality of services.
• All international and domestic airfare, visa fees, airport tax, or any kind of insurance cover is not a part of the package.
• Any rescheduling/rearrangement of package due to circumstances beyond Travgenix’s control might result in additional charges for hotels and/or vehicle.
• It is mandatory for the traveler to carry a valid address proof such as Aadhar card/Voter ID/Driving License/Passport along with them during the trip.

Cancellation Policy

• Cancellations made 30 days or more in advance of the travel date will incur a 30% cancelation fee.
• Cancellations made within 15 – 30 days will incur a 50% cancelation fee.
• Cancellations made within 0-15 days will incur a 100% cancelation fee.
• Cancellations due to any unforeseen circumstances occurring due to medical ground or sickness, within 48-72 hours before the travel date may stand valid for a rescheduling to a different date of the same booking. This shall be validated through the supportive medical documents.
• Any cancellation request of the booking shall be entertained only till 1800 Hrs.
• If the booked accommodation type lies in 4-5 star category then the charges and timeline may vary depending upon the property’s regulations.

Payment Policy

• The payment terms finalized at the time of booking will remain the same and can not be changed once the booking is done.
• 100% advance of the total booking value shall be paid well ahead of the travel date adhering to the finalized payment terms.

4. Ranthambore Fort: Located in Sawai Madhopur, within the Ranthambore National Park, the Ranthambore Fort is a very popular UNESCO World Heritage Site. This sturdy fort was built by the Nagil Jats in the 10th century and was later inhabited by the Chauhan dynasty.

5. Amber Fort: Set overlooking Lake Maota, Amber Fort is known popularly for its brilliant craftsmanship. Built by Raja Man Singh I in the 16th century, this fort features the Sheesh Mahal, Sheela Mata Temple, several huge gates, and beautiful cobbled paths.

1. Pushkar: Head to Pushkar city for an exuberant camel safari, especially during the colourful Pushkar Camel Fair. Pass through tiny hamlets and interact with indigenous tribes to learn about the local lifestyle.

2. Bikaner: Camel safari in Bikaner will take you through quaint settlements including Mohangarh, Kanasar, Naukh, Tadana, and Baru and expose you to the colourful local culture.

Have heard about staycations but haven't tried it before. So this will be my 1st experience.

My Plan - 1st few days in Jaipur followed by Udaipur.

Those who have done this / any locals - kindly help on the below -

1. Is July month, ok to visit Rajasthan?

2. Any stays / hostels recommended for this workation?

Right now i have fixed Zostel in Jaipur and Mantra/Zostel in Udaipur + any airbnbs if found affordable.

3. Any other suggestions from your side on the itinerary? Jodhpur / Jaisalmer /Ajmer?

Do note, i need to work between Monday to Friday (Will take any one day as holiday in between)
