Join us for a general admissions information session and walking tour of campus. On this tour our student Ambassadors will guide you through campus stopping along the way to see classroom buildings, a model residence hall room, student dining options, and more.   

To register for an in-person campus tour, please follow these steps:

• Select the date you wish to visit using the calendar.
• Select an available tour time.
• Complete the campus tour registration form.

• Independence Day: Thursday, July 4 & Friday, July 5, 2024

Spring classes begin January 8, 2024 and continue through April 26, 2024.  Summer classes will take place May 13, 2024 through August 2, 2024.

As Florida's seat of government, Tallahassee is brimming with opportunities for civic engagement. Tallahassee is known for its trees. From majestic live oaks to tropical palms, we're surrounded by them. We take great pride in our city's natural beauty, for it has a lot to offer. A stroll through Alfred B Maclay Gardens State Park will offer plenty of fantastic photo ops. The beautiful Cascades Park , in the heart of the city and just minutes from campus, is perfect for a jog. Known to some as " Trailahassee ", the region also offers numerous hiking and biking opportunities. When the summer sun is high, nothing can beat a dive into the cool waters of Wakulla Springs just south of town, or a tubing trip down one of the nearby rivers.

Creative Capital

Being both a college town and state capital, Tallahassee is booming with arts and culture. Some of the city's more famous museums include the Museum of Florida History , the outdoor Tallahassee Museum , and the Tallahassee Automobile Museum whose collection includes Abraham Lincoln's horse drawn hearse and two Batmobiles. In and around downtown, you'll find all sorts of unique street art celebrating the city and state culture. On the First Friday of each month, the Railroad Square Art Park comes alive for a lively gallery hop. Music fans will find venues of all sizes, from the intimate confines of FSU's Club Downunder to the open-air amphitheater at Cascades Park .

Lucky Goat Coffee - Start your day with a caffeine kick courtesy of this local bean roaster, offering everything from hand-made lattes to on-tap cold brew. You can even grab a bag of beans from the shop and brew it yourself.

Wells Brothers Bar & Grill - A favorite of FSU students, and home to one of the most deliciously decadent burgers you'll ever bite into - the bacon and peanut butter topped "Lip Smacker".

Gaines Street Pies - Located on the recently-revived Gaines Street, this pizza place is packed with hungry students enjoying cleverly named pies loaded with toppings such as "The Metal Mike" and "Foxy Cleopatra". Don't forget the garlic knots!

Sweet Pea Café - With a focus on local, sustainable, vegan fare, Sweet Pea serves up eats for the Earth-conscious diner including their delicious vegan poutine and homemade baked goods.

Voodoo Dog - Dripping with kitschy punk style, this place is famous for their crazy hot dogs, including the bacon-wrapped, mac-n-cheese topped dog known simply as "The Jefferson".

Bella Bella - A favorite of ours for a romantic date night, serving up delicious homemade Italian classics in their cozy midtown location.

Gordo's Cuban Café - Tallahassee is about as far away from Miami as you can get without leaving the state, so thankfully we have Gordo's to provide our many students from south Florida with a taste of home.

Cabo's Island Grill - A true Tallahassee original where you can enjoy a delicious burger, massive burrito, or fresh-from-Florida seafood while soaking in the surf-rock atmosphere.

The College of Business hosts a 30-minute, in-person tour on Fridays during the fall and spring semesters, starting at 11:00 a.m. Tours are hosted by business student ambassadors who are members of the college's Student Leadership Council . Guests will tour the Rovetta Business Building (RBB) and Rovetta Business Annex (RBA), current home to the College of Business.

To provide all guests with the best possible experience, we limit the number of guests for each tour. Pre-registration is requested at least two (2) business days prior to your visit.

About Our Location

The College of Business is located in the Rovetta Business Building (RBB) and the Rovetta Business Annex (RBA), which is in the northeast section of Florida State University’s downtown Tallahassee main campus of 463 acres. The college can easily be reached from the Tallahassee Regional Airport (TLH) via taxi or rental car within 15 minutes. It is a 16 minute drive (9.5 miles) by car from I-10 West.

Metered visitor parking is available in the Call Street parking lot or Woodward Avenue parking garage. Both locations are a short distance from the college. Utilizing the Florida State University map , both parking locations as well as the college’s Rovetta Business Building A and Rovetta Business Building B can be located through the search feature.

The College of Fine Arts Recruitment Services Team would be happy to schedule a tour of one of our departments for you! We have six academic departments within the College of Fine Arts including Interior Architecture & Design, Art Education, Art History, Studio Art, the School of Theatre, and the School of Dance. Tours typically take around 30-45 minutes, depending on the program of interest and availability of spaces. They can be scheduled Monday – Friday between the hours of 9:30 am and 3:30 pm, excluding holidays. Additionally, if you plan to visit campus most of the day, we encourage you register for a campus walking tour provided by the FSU Visitor’s Center.

Visit the college.

The College of Nursing Student Services and Success office host a 1 hour, in person tour on select dates during the Fall and Spring semesters. Tours are hosted by student ambassadors of the College of Nursing who are members of the College of Nursing Leadership Council. Guest will tour Duxbury Hall (DUX), the current home to the College of Nursing, and our simulation labs.

REGISTRATION

To provide all guests with the best possible experience, we limit the number of guests for each tour. Pre-registration is required at least three (3) business days prior to your visit to confirm availability.

About our location

The College of Nursing is located in Duxbury Hall (DUX) which is in the center of campus, southeast of the FSU Student Union on Florida State University’s downtown Tallahassee main campus. The college can easily be reached from the Tallahassee Regional Airport (TLH) via taxi or rental car within 15 minutes. It is a 16 minute drive (9.5 miles) by car from I-10 West. Visitor parking is available at Woodward Parking garage located on Woodward Avenue directly adjacent to Duxbury Hall. Utilizing the Florida State University map , the College of Nursing can be found alphabetically under Duxbury Hall (DUX).

Welcome to florida state university, seminole express bus service.

FSU's bus service, Seminole Express, runs throughout campus and is also available for visitors free of charge. Visit the Seminole Express Bus Service page for more details.

Hourly and Daily

Visitor Parking Lot:  Visitor parking is available at the University Center next to the FSU Visitors' Center . Parking is $2 per hour, with a max of $10 per day.

Daily Visitor Permit:  Visitor parking permits are available for purchase here: permits.parking.fsu.edu . These permits may be purchased for $6/daily. Vehicles with visitor permits may park in any non-gated faculty/staff space as well as student spaces.

Semesterly Visitor Permits:  Visitor parking permits are available for purchase here: permits.parking.fsu.edu . These permits may be purchased for $65/semester. Vehicles with visitor permits may park in any non-gated faculty/staff space (red lines) as well as student spaces (white lines).    Requires vacating Booster lots on home football game weekends - review map here for details .

Four runs late, walk-off stun FSU baseball in 2024 College World Series opener

No. 8 Florida State baseball had the game on the tip of its fingers but watched it slip away in its 2024 College World Series opener.

Top-ranked Tennessee stunned FSU with a 12-11 walk-off victory Friday night at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Volunteers advanced into the winners' bracket of the eight-team, double-elimination tournament against North Carolina Sunday at 7 p.m.

To stay alive, FSU must beat Virginia in an elimination game Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Seminoles twice were a strike away from beating the Vols, who rallied for four runs in the bottom of the ninth.

Dylan Dreiling RBI single to left-center field with two outs clinched the game.

The Vols ended the game with four consecutive two-out hits.

Tennessee's Christian Moore set the Volunteers up in position to win with a two-strike, two-out double into the left-field corner. Moore went 5 of 6 and hit for the cycle (single, double, triple and home run). It is the second cycle in CWS history.

That brought up Blake Burke, who delivered the tying single up the middle. This came after third-base umpire Shawn Rakos signaled Burke checked his swing on a pitch with two strikes.

Burke moved to second on Billy Amick's single. Dreiling followed and drove in the winning run on the second pitch from Connor Hults on a drive into left-center field.

While neither side played cleanly the entire game, with five errors combined, the offenses made up for it with 31 total hits.

FSU was on the board first, following a wild pitch that would lead to a Max William score. Tennesee would take four runs in the first two innings. Two of them were unearned due to errors.

Tennessee went deep to its bullpen after starting pitcher Chris Stamos only lasted 0.1. Six pitchers took the field the whole game.

FSU made an early comeback after trailing 4-1 by orchestrating six runs in the top third. Jaime Ferrer gave FSU a comfortable 9-4 lead after hitting a two-run homer in the fourth inning.

After two scoreless innings, Tennessee rebuilt its momentum with two home runs by Kavares Tears and Moore.

Marco Dinges' RBI double gave FSU a needed four-run lead. Dinges led the Seminoles with three hits. Ferrer led with four RBI.

Jamie Arnold didn't have his best night. In five innings, he allowed eight hits, six runs, four walks and a throwing error. Conner Whittaker took over in the sixth inning as the relief pitcher.

Whittaker threw 71 pitches in 3.1 innings, the most he has thrown since returning from his injury. Brennan Oxford took over but was relieved by Conner Hults, who surrendered the game-winning hit.

Top of the 9th Griff O'Ferrall grounds out to third in what could be his final at-bat as a Cavalier. Henry Godbout draws a five-pitch walk, giving UVA a one-out baserunner. Casey Saucke hits a line drive to short and Lodise makes the catch and fires to first to double up Godbout to end the game. Florida State wins 7-3 and Virginia is eliminated from the College World Series.

Bottom of the 8th Into the game now for Virginia is freshman righty Matt Augustin (4.28 ERA). Augustin gets Ferrer to fly out to right field. Cantu grounds out to second. Lodise flies out to center field to end the inning. We head to the ninth with the Cavaliers needing to score four runs to keep their season alive. UVA 3, FSU 7 | End 8th

Top of the 8th Somewhat surprisingly, Carson Dorsey remains on the mound to start the eighth inning with a pitch count of 103. Ference turns on an 0-2 pitch from Dorsey and drives it into left field for a leadoff single. And that will now officially do it for Carson Dorsey, who exits with a statline of 7.0 innings, 2 earned runs on 9 hits and 7 strikeouts. Dorsey is replaced by lefty Brennen Oxford (3.44 ERA), who will face Harrison Didawick with a runner on first and no outs. Oxford's 0-1 pitch to Ford gets away from Jaxson West and to the backstop, allowing Ference to move into scoring position at second. Didawick strikes out swinging for the first out of the inning. Anderson hits a slow grounder up the middle and Ference moves to third, but Anderson is thrown out at first for the second out. Home plate ump Linus Baker takes a foul ball under the chin and is getting looked at by the training staff. Anthony Stephan hits a deep drive to left-center field and it goes off the wall for an RBI double, scoring Ference from third to make it 7-3. Tibbs III hits a grounder into the shift and O'Ferrall makes the play from his spot to the right of second base. O'Ferrall stays busy, fielding the grounder from Dinges and recording the final out of the seventh inning. UVA 2, FSU 7 | End 7th

Top of the 7th: Ethan Anderson hits a line drive into the left field corner for a leadoff single to start the seventh. Anthony Stephan hits a bouncer to the right side and by the time Faurot gets to the ball, there's no play to be made and Stephan reaches with an infield single. Virginia has runners on first and second with no outs. Hanson chases a high fastball and strikes out swinging for the first out of the inning. O'Ferrall just barely misses out an extra base hit as his line drive lands foul by a foot or two and then strikes out swinging for the second out. Henry Godbout hits a line drive to left field and Ferrer appeared to have made a nice sliding catch, but the ball pops out of his glove as he went to the ground. Anderson scores from second and Virginia is finally on the board. It's 7-1 Florida State. Casey Saucke hits a looping single into left-center field and Stephan scores from second to make it 7-2. Carson Dorsey is now above 100 pitches for the day, but he remains in the game and strikes out Henry Ford with a curve ball to end the inning with the Seminoles still leading by five runs. Bottom of the 6th Alex Lodise turns on the first pitch of the inning from Savino and crushes it to left field for a solo home run. FSU leads 7-0. That'll do it for Joe Savino, who exits after giving up five earned runs on four hits in 1.2 innings of work. UVA replaces Savino with lefty Angelo Tonas (3.96 ERA). Faurot grounds out to shortstop for the first out of the inning. West hits a grounder back to Tonas, who fields it and throws to first for the out. Top of the 6th Godbout hits a line drive to left field and it hangs up in the air long enough for Ferrer to make the catch. Dorsey comes back from down 2-0 and strikes out Saucke swinging for the second out. Ference draws a full-count walk and UVA has runners on first and second with two outs. Bottom of the 3rd Alex Lodise hits a deep drive to left field and Anthony Stephan, making his first start in left field in weeks, gets turned around but gets his glove up to make the tough catch. Drew Faurot hits a grounder through the right side for a one-out single, FSU's first baserunner of the game. Jaxson West hits a pop-up into foul territory and Luke Hanson makes the catch for the second out. Back to the top of the order, Max Williams bloops a single into left field and FSU has runners on first and second with two outs. A long at-bat ends with Woolfolk walking Cam Smith to load the bases with ACC Player of the Year James Tibbs III coming to the plate. Woolfolk walks Tibbs III and Faurot comes home to score to give Florida State a 1-0 lead. Marco Dinges chops a grounder to second and Godbout collects it and steps on second base to end the inning. Woolfolk gives up a run, but averts disaster to limit the damage to just one run. UVA 0, FSU 1 | End 3rd

Woolfolk falls behind Jaime Ferrer 3-0, but battles back and strikes him out swinging for his third strikeout. Daniel Cantu drives one to deep center field and Harrison Didawick, playing center field for just the 21st time this season, makes an incredible leaping catch at the wall to prevent at least an extra base hit (and possibly a home run) and end the inning. A federal appeals court is weighing Florida's Stop WOKE Act

Grappling with issues of government power and academic freedom, a federal appeals court Friday heard arguments in a battle about a 2022 Florida law that restricts how race-related concepts can be taught in state universities — a law that Gov. Ron DeSantis dubbed the “Stop WOKE Act.”

The state appealed after Chief U.S. District Judge Mark Walker in November 2022 issued a preliminary injunction against the law, which he said violated First Amendment rights.

Charles Cooper, an attorney for the state, told a three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals during Friday’s hearing that the state has the authority to make choices about the content of university courses. He argued that legal precedents back upholding the constitutionality of the law.

“The cases are legion that the government gets to have a viewpoint,” Cooper said.

But Leah Watson, an attorney for university instructors who challenged the law, disputed Cooper’s arguments and said the purpose of the law “is only to suppress disfavored views.” She pointed to academic freedom and said universities, not the Legislature, should enforce standards.

“Classroom instruction is not government speech,” said Watson, senior staff attorney with the ACLU Racial Justice Program.

Rulings in such cases typically take months.

DeSantis made a priority of the law, which he called the “Stop Wrongs To Our Kids and Employees Act,” or “Stop WOKE Act.” In recent years, he has frequently criticized what he calls “indoctrination” in education and has helped engineer an overhaul of New College of Florida — part of the state university system — to try to make it more conservative.

The law lists a series of race-related concepts and says it would constitute discrimination if students are subjected to instruction that “espouses, promotes, advances, inculcates or compels” them to believe the concepts.

As an example, the law labels instruction discriminatory if students are led to believe that they bear “responsibility for, or should be discriminated against or receive adverse treatment because of, actions committed in the past by other members of the same race, color, national origin or sex.”

As another example, the law seeks to prohibit instruction that would cause students to “feel guilt, anguish or other forms of psychological distress because of actions, in which the person played no part, committed in the past by other members of the same race, color, national origin or sex.”

But in issuing the preliminary injunction, Walker, who was nominated to bench by former President Barack Obama, called the law “positively dystopian” and said it is “antithetical to academic freedom and has cast a leaden pall of orthodoxy over Florida’s state universities.”

Walker also separately issued a preliminary injunction against part of the law that placed restrictions on addressing race-related issues in workplace training. A panel of the appeals court in March upheld that injunction.

But a key issue in Friday’s hearing centered on how much authority the Legislature has to decide what is said in state classrooms. Judge Barbara Lagoa, for example, said a university is an “inherently state institution” and said the issue involves speech of state employees.
