It’s built in the backyard of a modern midcentury estate, and gives the feeling of camping out in history. This split level treehouse is only 190 square feet.

Even though it’s small, there are tonnes of cozy vibes and things to do here. In the bedroom, there’s a queen size bed to sink into at the end of the day. The bathroom has a wet-room style, which means the shower is on the same level as the rest of the room. The bathroom is tanked and there’s a drain for the water to run down. It’s very modern and very beautiful.

So if you want a romantic getaway or even just a solo vacation, this spot is the one for you.

If you are looking for quiet romance the Yoki is away from the main area so you will never see anyone and they can’t see you.

The only true downside was the walk to the bath house for the restrooms but this was still only a 2-3 minute walk from our tree house (and we were well aware of this having already researched it ahead of time).

The staff was very accommodating at check-in and very thorough in explaining their process.

There are some excellent famous destination restaurants about 30 miles away, and some decent small town cafes within 10 miles, but I would recommend bringing steaks and such to cook and dine while enjoying the beautiful outdoors!

Giraffe picks up 2-year-old girl from bed of pickup at Texas drive-thru safari

Toddler not hurt following scary moment at fossil rim wildlife center in glen rose.

GLEN ROSE, Texas – It was quite a scary moment for one family during a recent visit to a Texas drive-thru safari.

According to the Toten family, they were driving through the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose on June 1 when they decided to stop and feed the giraffes.

The Toten’s 2-year-old daughter, Paisley, and her mother were in the bed of their pickup when a giraffe lifted the toddler into the air.

“Paisley was holding the bag, and the giraffe went to go get the bag, not her, but it ended up getting her shirt, too, and picked her up,” said Jason Toten, Paisley’s father, in an interview with KWTX .

Luckily, Paisley wasn’t lifted too high before the giraffe dropped her into her mother’s arms.

“As soon as she went up, her mom yelled, ‘Hey!’ and the giraffe let go,” Toten said. “My heart stopped, my stomach dropped … it scared me.”

Following the scary incident, which was caught on video by a car behind them, they went to a gift shop and got Paisley a toy giraffe because “she deserved it.”

Despite what happened, the family said they plan on returning to the park in the future.

According to the wildlife center, visitors are allowed to ride in the bed of a pickup if an adult is riding in the back with them and everyone is safely inside the vehicle.

Visitors are also allowed to feed the animals at the park, where exotic and endangered animals roam free.

A couple from Texas experienced a shocking incident during their visit to a wildlife center when a giraffe picked up their toddler during a safari drive-thru.

Over the weekend, the family visited Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, where the visitors are allowed to drive themselves through a path to get a closer look at and to feed the wildlife.

Paisley Toten, 2, was sitting at the back of her family's truck with her mom, feeding the giraffe, when the animal grabbed her by the shirt and lifted her into the air.

The moment was caught on camera by Paisley's mom, Sierra Robert, and the visitors in the car behind them.

"By the time I, like, looked back over, she was gone," Robert recalled to "Good Morning America." "It was just really shock, you know, adrenaline sets in."

"My heart just stopped," Jason Toten, Paisley's dad, added.

Paisley's dad, Jason Toten, told ABC News his daughter was eventually released by the giraffe and did not suffer any injuries. When Paisley fell, Robert was able to catch her daughter in her arms.

"Her falling to me, me having to catch her like, it’s all in slow motion," Robert recounted.

According to the rules on the center's website , during the drive-thru, "Only giraffes can be fed by hand. This is for your safety, as animals besides giraffe[s] can bite."

Corbin Maxey, a wildlife expert, told "GMA" the giraffe who picked up Paisley likely is comfortable with human interaction.

"This is a giraffe that's used to eating from visitors. And what happened is a toddler was holding that bag of food really, really close and the giraffe leaned in, something it normally does. And by getting the bag of food, it accidentally grabbed the toddler's shirt," Maxey said.

Fossil Rim Wildlife Center issued a statement to ABC News on Wednesday.

"We were recently made aware of an incident involving one of our giraffes that occurred this past weekend," the statement read. "The incident was first reported to us on Monday June 3rd. The safety of our guests and animals is always of utmost importance to us. Although an incident like this has never occurred here previously, we are taking immediate action to make sure it won't happen again."

The statement continued, "Effective immediately Fossil Rim will no longer be allowing guests to ride through the park in truck beds. Fossil Rim offers a variety of experiences guided by knowledgeable staff so guests can continue to have up-close and memorable animal encounters, and support our mission to save threatened and endangered species."

The Toten family said they have no ill will toward the wildlife center and plan to return to the park in the future.

"The giraffe was just trying to get some food and it got a little bit more than it bargained for," Jason Toten said.

Two-year-old Paisley is also taking the incident in stride and said she still likes giraffes.

Experts say the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is highly accredited with the Association of Zoos & Aquariums and upholds the highest standards but remind the public to do their research before visiting any zoo, especially if the zoo allows interaction with animals.

Family details shocking moment when giraffe lifts toddler into the air at drive-thru safari park in Texas

A family's close encounter with a giraffe at a Texas drive-thru safari park was captured on camera, showing the animal plucking a toddler out of the bed of their truck and several feet into the air.

The incident at Fossil Rim Safari Center near Glen Rose, Texas, over the weekend went viral, as 2-year-old Paisley's mom asked her in the video if she wanted to feed the giraffe, just seconds before it lifted her up.

Jason Toten, Paisley's dad, told NBC News his family wasn't expecting the giraffe to pick up his daughter instead of the bag of food she was holding.

“It was an accident and the giraffe didn’t mean to — it was just one of (those) things that happened," he said.

Toten said Paisley was uninjured in the incident, and that his family headed to the gift shop afterwards, where they bought Paisley a toy giraffe and matching shirt.

“We’re gonna revisit. We're not mad at the giraffe. We’re not mad at the park," he said.

"We’re still gonna encourage everybody else to go visit," he continued. "It’s a great place to go, especially for toddlers or kids really that love animals."

Fossil Rim Safari Center told NBC News on June 5 the safety of its guests and animals is "always of utmost importance," and that while an "incident like this has never occurred" at the park before, it would be taking action.

"Effective immediately Fossil Rim will no longer be allowing guests to ride through the park in truck beds," the center said in a statement. "Fossil Rim offers a variety of experiences guided by knowledgeable staff so guests can continue to have up-close and memorable animal encounters, and support our mission to save threatened and endangered species."

Toten said he was disappointed by the abrupt policy change.

"We’re saddened to hear that they changed the rule to no riding in the back of the truck," he said.

Sierra Robert, Paisley's mom, summarized their trip in a Facebook post: "It was a blast buttttt…. I would discourage you from riding in the back of the truck."

Giraffe hoists 2-year-old into the air at drive-thru safari park: "My heart stopped"

A Texas family went through a heart-dropping scare at a drive-thru safari park earlier this month when a giraffe reached into their pickup truck and grabbed their 2-year-old daughter, hoisting her in the air. 

The incident happened at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, Texas, where visitors drive through a trail with animals like cheetahs, emus, zebras and wildebeests, with the opportunity to feed them from their cars.

"We stopped to feed the giraffes and I turned around to look out the back window," Jason Toten told CBS affiliate KWTX . "That's when I saw the giraffe kind of digging around, and then it just grabbed her."

The giraffe grabbed his 2-year-old daughter, Paisley, by her shirt from the back of their pickup. The giraffe hoisted her a few feet in the air and her mom, who was in the pickup bed with her, shouted at the giraffe, prompting the animal to let go. 

The incident was captured on camera by the people in the car behind them, who sent it to the family. 

Toten said it appeared to be an accident and that the family  didn't break park rules , which include keeping car doors closed, feeding animals with cups — not your hands — and keeping 50 feet away from gates.

"Paisley was holding the bag and the giraffe went to go get the bag, not get her, but ended up getting her shirt too and picking her up," he said. 

"My heart stopped, my stomach dropped… it scared me," he said.

The incident didn't deter the family — Toten said they'd visit again. And Paisley got a stuffed giraffe from the souvenir shop after the rough ride.

Following the incident, the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center updated the safety rules for visitors, saying on its website : "Effective June 6th, 2024, guests are no longer permitted to ride in the bed of pickup truck."

A family trip to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose turned into a heart-stopping experience when a giraffe grabbed hold of a child.

The incident was caught on camera on Saturday, June 1st, and has now gone viral.

In the video, the family attempts to feed the safari animal when the animal suddenly snatches the child's shirt. Fortunately, the giraffe quickly releases the toddler, and she is not hurt in any way.

NBC 5 reached out to Fossil Rim for a statement regarding the incident, but they haven't received a response yet.

However, on Wednesday, the wildlife center's website announced a new policy : starting Thursday, guests will no longer be allowed to ride in the bed of pick-up trucks.
