Msc fantasia.

MSC-Fantasia-Top-Sail-Lounge-(Yacht-Club) - Top Sail Lounge on Deck 15, with its sweeping views and elegant interior, is part of MSC Fantasia's exclusive Yacht Club.

Cruiseable team

On a cruise ship, cruiseclout score: 95.0, msc fantasia: find your joie de vivre on board.

MSC Fantasia is the largest cruise ship ever built for a European ship owner. Greater in length than the height of the Eiffel Tower, it has 1,637 staterooms, 80% of them with an ocean view, many with private balconies. This winning ship from MSC Cruises  features advanced technology, elegant furnishings and exclusive services. Built with the environment in mind, the MSC Fantasia cruise liner is constructed in a modern eco-friendly spirit.

For the first time on a ship, guests will walk on Swarovski  crystal stairs. A transparent ceiling allows passengers to experience all the magic of sailing as they gaze at the starlit skies. The 290,628 square feet of public space includes the luxury MSC Aurea Spa with a thermal cave for relaxation and rejuvenation, six restaurants, five swimming pools, 12 hydro-massage pools, coffee bars, shops, and a children's and teen area that includes a swimming pool with a waterslide. The Aqua Park features 150 illuminated musical fountains, a Formula 1 simulator and an interactive 4-D cinema.

Who will like sailing on MSC Fantasia

In North America, MSC Cruises is mostly known in for its hybrid Italian-American-style cruises to the Caribbean. MSC is reaching out to North American cruisers and is known as one of Europe's leading cruise lines, particularly popular with Italians, French, Spanish and Germans. An effort to expand facilities and publish and announce in English is clearly targeting Canadians and Americans more and more.

It's important to note that MSC's style is definitely European. English-speaking travelers who love European service and cuisine will find the ship delightful. Those who prefer a more traditional experience — in service, food and activities — may not be keen to cruise on Fantasia.

Where MSC Fantasia sails

Fantasia is a workhorse of the MSC Cruises line, featuring mostly 7-night Mediterranean cruises year round out of Genoa with stops in Naples , Mallorca (Majorca), Barcelona and Marseille .

Entertainment

MSC Cruises offers a wide array of entertainment programs and facilities, with its state-of-the-art 1,600-seat L'Avanguardia Theatre, futuristic Liquid Disco, the Casino delle Palme with more than 1000 square meters (more than 3000sq. feet) of casino gaming and Virtual World, video games room.

An ode to jazz, the Manhattan Bar on MSC Fantasia is a stylish lounge where guests can listen to live music and sip fine whiskies, cognac and top-shelf liquors.

The fun is never-ending by day or night. Italians are known for l'arte di vivere — or joie de vivre in French, the art of living and enjoying life.

Begin, perhaps with an invigorating yoga class, volleyball game, tennis or miniature golf. Stop by the Internet Cafe or international library while the kids enjoy the fun of the complimentary youth program that includes art, dancing and games for kids of all ages. Enjoy shopping in the onboard boutiques, or enrich your mind with an Italian lesson.

When evening arrives, la notte magica — the night is magical. Inspired entertainment brings standing ovations. Different shows are offered in the theater each night, such as passionate flamenco dancers from Spain.

Your enchanted evening continues with dancing in the disco and live performances throughout the ship, from a classical string quartet to jazz and piano. Or have fun singing along to your favorite Italian songs. And in the European gaming tradition,  try your luck in the casino. Then end your evening with a romantic stroll on the pool deck where le stelle brilliano luminose — the stars shine bright.

All staterooms are provided with an innovative digital television system that gives you access to several onboard services. The service uses the most technologically advanced interactive system in the cruise market. Using your remote control you can follow the daily program, watch first-run movies (pay-per-view), purchase shore excursions, order room service, preview our ports of call, or buy items from the onboard shops — and  you can also check onboard account. The new service delivers great media from the comfort of your stateroom and also delivers extremely high video and audio quality.

MSC Fantasia

Launched by MSC Cruises in 2008 as the first of four ships in its class, 3,272-guest MSC Fantasia  features four pools (including one that can be covered in inclement weather with a giant glass and steel dome), multiple fountains, acres of sun loungers, and a soaring showpiece atrium with a Swarovski crystal-studded staircase. The ship mostly sails itineraries in the Mediterranean and attracts an international mix of families and couples with its budget-focused cruise fares.

MSC Yacht Club: This premium ship-within-a-ship enclave sits atop the forward half of MSC Fantasia  and features a separate observation lounge and pool area, as well as the ship's most deluxe cabins and suites.

Italian Coffees, Gelato, and Pastries: Aromatic espresso drinks are available for purchase in the stylish Il Cappuccino Coffee Bar overlooking the atrium — guests can add a scoop of Italian-style gelato or a pastry if they're feeling indulgent.

MSC Aurea Spa:  This lavish natural stone, wood, and tile haven inspired by the spas of Bali offers 20 types of massages, 19 body treatments, and 19 facials, plus a Turkish Bath, sauna, relaxation area, fitness center, and juice bar.

Genuine Italian Cuisine: The main restaurants — Il Cherchio d'Oro and La Cantina Toscana — serve, as one would expect on an Italian ship, great pastas and other regional specialties from around the country. These are often the best choices, however, so it helps to love Italian food.

Big Entertainment: The main shows in the two-deck Teatro l'Avanguardia theater are known for their epic production values. Given the ship’s multilingual clientele, offerings veer away from typical Broadway fare in favor of acrobatic and musical performances featuring vibrant costumes and lavish sets.

Europhiles and Mega Ship Fans: This is a perfect ship for anyone seeking a European-style cruise experience on a big, splashy ship with a wide variety of entertainment and dining options.

It's Multilingual: MSC Fantasia isn't right for those who prefer a typical American-style cruise experience — a large percentage of passengers are from Europe and announcements are made in multiple languages. It's also a high-density ship, accommodating up to 4,363 guests at capacity, so crowds and lines are common.

Peter Knego Deal Expert / Travel Blogger California-based Peter Knego writes for Travel Weekly, Cruise Travel, Ocean & Cruise News, USA Today, and Porthole. Knego also runs midshipcentury.com, which offers midcentury cruise ship furniture and artwork rescued from the shipbreaking yards.

Completion of MSC Virtuosa and MSC Seashore and strengthening our commitment to sustainability.

Despite the challenges of the Covid pandemic two new cruise ships joined our fleet in 2021 – MSC Virtuosa and MSC Seashore. We also advanced with our ambitions to grow our portfolio of cruise terminals, which allow us to anchor our presence in marquee homeports and offer the best service to guests while enabling us to foster a front-to-end integrated experience. In November, we opened the doors of the Nelson Mandela Cruise Terminal in Durban, South Africa. We also obtained final clearance to start building our exclusive cruise terminals in Barcelona and Miami as key embarkation ports in the western Mediterranean and the Caribbean. In 2021, we also took an important step forward on our journey to sustainability and reinforced our desire to be an industry leader in this field.

MSC World Europa, Promenade | MSC Cruises

Delivery of MSC World Europa, the first LNG-powered ship of our fleet and introduced technologies to reduce our impact on the environment.

In 2022 we were delighted that we finally saw the restart of the entire fleet and progressively and safely ease Covid restrictions. We also continued to make significant progress along our sustainability journey. Over the year, we launched two new ships. In October, we took delivery of the MSC World Europa, the first to be LNG-powered. It features a pilot solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and incorporates a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system – which reduces nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 90% by converting the gas into nitrogen and water – and shore-to-ship power connectivity, which allows MSC World Europa to minimise engine use at ports wherever the portside infrastructure is available. In November, we took delivery of the MSC Seascape. MSC Protectours , our dedicated excursions specifically designed to educate our guests and promote responsible tourism and responsible travel- become more widely available.

MSC Euribia LNG Ship | MSC Cruises

We conducted the world's first ever net zero Greenhouse Gas emissions voyage, inaugurated our new terminal facilities in Durban (South Africa) and launched Explora I, the first of six ships from our new luxury brand Explora Journeys.

MSC Euribia, our second LNG ship, conducted the world’s first ever net zero Greenhouse Gas emissions voyage utilising Bio-LNG using mass-balance, the most cost-effective and environmentally efficient method of delivering the benefits of renewable LNG.

The first steel was cut for the second of our World Class ships, MSC World America. Sales opened for her itineraries, where she will homeport in our new state-of-the-art terminal at Port Miami, from 2025. A further two World Class ships were confirmed with shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique, with an option for a fifth.

MSC Meraviglia became MSC Cruises’ first ship to homeport in New York, conducting year-round sailings. This marked a third homeport in the USA, in addition to Miami and Port Canaveral. This was followed by sales opening at our fourth homeport of Galvaston, Texas.

MSC Cruises conducted an industry first, as two ships departed at the same time for separate 117 and 119-day world cruises - MSC Magnifica and MSC Poesia.

And in South Africa, we celebrated the inauguration of our new terminal facilities in Durban.

In the autumn, a new era for the Cruise Division of MSC Group began, with the launch of Explora I, the first of six ships from our new luxury brand, Explora Journeys, expanding the options for ocean travel to a new audience of luxury traveller.
