The Tourism Group operates the officially accredited Western Australia Visitor information Centre (WAVC) on behalf of Tourism Western Australia. Our expert team of WAVC travel consultants can assist visitors with information and bookings for a wide range of accommodation, tours, attractions and transfers throughout Western Australia.

The WAVC is conveniently located in Perth’s city centre and is open 7 days a week to provide holiday advice and bookings. The centre also offers an appealing range of Australian and Western Australian made souvenirs and produce.

While our team of travel consultants offer extensive knowledge and insights on Western Australia’s extraordinary destinations and products, those products and services can also be booked online at our dedicated booking site: Western Australia Visitors Centre website .

Our Core aims are to:

  • Showcase all of Western Australia and inspire and encourage visitors to travel throughout the State, thus helping to extend stay and increase spend.

Australia's urban oasis of Perth is nestled within the vast nature of Western Australia – and that's why the locals love it! Here, not only can you relax on the serene white-sand beaches, but you can immerse yourself in the bustling art galleries, historic neighbourhoods and epic events. Just outside of Perth, you can find idyllic local wineries and unique wildlife.

Perth/Boorloo stands on the ancient country of the Whadjuk Noongar people, one of the 14 clans of the Noongar nation, who have been the Traditional Owners of the south west of Western Australia for at least 45,000 years. Experience Aboriginal culture with the many First Nations tours operating in Perth all year round.

Perth Airport is easy to access both from international and domestic transit hubs. If you are flying from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, you can get a direct flight into Perth with an average flight time of five hours. 

  • Perth Airport (PER) is 12km (7.5mi) from the city and services domestic and international arrivals
  • Hire cars, taxis and rideshare services as well as shuttle buses are available to book prior to your arrival, or on the day 

Cycling is the most popular mode of transport for residents, but the city also offers an efficient and affordable public transport system. Read more about getting around Perth .

The weather in Perth is very consistent all year round. Enjoy a hot, dry summer between December and February, and a mild winter between June and August. 

From September to November, not only is the weather dry and warm, but it is also the perfect time to spot whales migrating along the coast as the females with newborn calves are on their way back from the nursery grounds.

Seniors Travel Entitlement

As a senior you are entitled to the following travel benefits:

  • If you have a valid Western Australia Pensioner Concession Card you are entitled to one free return trip or two single trips per calendar year on the Transwa network.
  • Seniors who do not have a WA Pensioner Concession Card are still eligible for a 50% discount on a standard adult fare.

How To Book

Book your Transwa Seniors Break in person at the WA Visitors Centre, call or email us:

  • Register your Pensioner Concession details with Transwa at www.transwa.wa.gov.au (Centrelink no longer issues free trip vouchers annually) or call 1300 662 205
  • If you have registered, you are welcome to call us on 1800 812 808 or email us at [email protected] to book your next Seniors Break adventure.
  • Transport bookings can be made up to 3 months prior to your travel date.
  • Accommodation bookings can be secured at any time with a 15% deposit at the time of booking.
