If you want a few extra days to explore on your own, we may be able to arrange for you to stay later than the scheduled dates, including extra hotel nights and separate airport transfers, for an additional charge. Ask us about prices and availability when (or after) you book. More information Want to extend your trip?

Options & Fees

1. Cabin upgrades are subject to availability. If the category you selected is unavailable, you'll have the option to select a different category (at the prices shown) or cancel your reservation and receive a refund of your deposit. Triple occupancy may be available upon request.

So that we can offer you the best deals, our packages are, like most hotels and cruises, priced based on double occupancy rooms or cabins. We charge solo travelers an extra fee to cover the extra costs of single occupancy rooms or cabins. (Consider: if you booked a $200/night hotel room solo, you would pay the $200 yourself; but if a couple booked the same room, each one would pay only $100.) But you only pay extra for the rooms or cabins, nothing else, including meals, sightseeing, tips, etc. Why are single rooms more?

Flights & Departure Cities

This package includes round-trip flights from the city listed above.

Want to fly from another city? We can arrange flights from most major cities. Ask us for a quote for flights from your preferred city when (or after) you book, and we'll get back to you with the price and availability within 3 business days. Of course, you can also book your own flights. More information

Day 3 Athens & Mykonos Embark on your cruise ship and set sail to the Greek Isles Spend the evening at leisure on the island of Mykonos Celestyal Discovery or similar Breakfast, lunch & dinner Full Day Itinerary This morning, transfer to the port to board your cruise ship, Celestyal Discovery. Spend the afternoon enjoying the sun, sea breezes, pool, and shipboard facilities. This evening, arrive at the gorgeous island of Mykonos and transfer from the port via a complimentary shuttle. Day 4 Kuşadası, Turkey & Patmos, Greece Enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of ancient Ephesus Spend the afternoon at leisure on the Greek island of Patmos Celestyal Discovery or similar Breakfast, lunch & dinner Full Day Itinerary Arrive in Kuşadası, Turkey this morning. Just ten kilometers from the port is the ancient city of Ephesus, where you'll find an archaeological site that ranks among the world's wonders. At the archaeological site, you will be given a guided tour of the Agora, the Odeon, the Library of Celsus, the marble-paved main Street of Kouretes, the Baths of Scholastica, Trajan's Fountain, the Public Latrines, the Residences of the Patricians, the Prytaneum, and the Temple of Hadrian. The Great Theatre, built in the 4th century B.C., could accommodate 24,000 spectators and is famous even today for its acoustics. The excavation findings, which have yet brought to light only 13% of ancient Ephesus, reside in the Archaeological Museum of Ephesus in Seljuk. Later this afternoon, return to your ship for lunch aboard as you sail toward Patmos, Greece. Disembark at Skala harbor, a lively place with whitewashed houses, flowered courtyards, tavernas, and shops. The Island of Patmos is famous in history as the place where St. John wrote the Book of Revelation. An optional tour takes you to the cave where St. John lived and the nearby Monastery, built on one of the island's highest points, priceless housing icons, and manuscripts in its Treasury. Return to the ship for dinner and overnight. Optional Excursion: Patmos countryside tour with Chora & Grotto (purchased locally), $77 Begin your panoramic tour from the port and drive to the central part of the island. Visit the Cave of the Apocalypse in the main town, Chora. This grotto is believed to be where John received the visions he recorded in the Book of Revelation. The nearby Monastery of St. John the Theologian, built on one of the island's highest points, houses priceless icons and manuscripts in its treasury. The grotto and monastery have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Day 5 Rhodes Enjoy a half-day medieval tour of Lindos Spend the remainder of day at leisure to explore the Greek island of Rhodes Celestyal Discovery or similar Breakfast, lunch & dinner Full Day Itinerary Today, visit Rhodes, the beautiful "Island of Roses." In the heart of the city of Rhodes is the largest inhabited medieval town in Europe, a fascinating web of Byzantine, Turkish and Latin ruins. Its mighty fortifications provide the finest surviving examples of the defensive architecture of the time. Lindos, with its whitewashed houses clustered beneath a soaring castle-capped acropolis, is Rhodes' most picturesque village and most important Doric settlement because of its natural harbor and vantage point built 125 meters above sea level. Drive along the scenic south-eastern coastline, dotted with whitewashed villages, to Lindos, one of the most important of the three great cities of ancient times. See how this entire city is guarded by medieval walls, which the knights of St. John constructed in the 13th century. Within them stands the ancient Acropolis of Lindos, on the brink of a precipice 400 feet above the sea. From the Acropolis, marvel at the breathtaking views covering the great expanse of the Aegean Sea and St Paul's Bay, where the apostle cast anchor during his historic voyage to Ephesus. Proceed on foot uphill to the grand staircase leading from the Hellenistic Portico to the Acropolis and Temple of Athena. Should you wish to make your way up by mule, a fee must be paid to the local muleteer. After the guided tour of the Acropolis, visit the Captains' mansions of Lindos. Wealthy merchant seafarers built these lovely old residences between the 16th and 18th centuries to prove their success. Set in large courtyards and sheltered behind high walls, these homes vary in size from simple, two-story houses to large, handsome Gothic mansions with Byzantine and Moorish architectural features. Continue to the Church of the Virgin Mary, known as the Church Panagia of Lindos. Just a few minutes walk from the main square into the labyrinth of Lindos' alleys, the church of Panagia is an enchanting sight. Surrounded by high walls and a small courtyard, this old church was originally built in 1300 but has since been submitted to numerous reconstructions. The most prominent external feature is a high-rise, stone-built campanile tower, typical of the Rhodian churches. The main building has a cross-shaped plan superimposed by an octagonal dome, whitewashed walls, and red byzantine tile roofs. Afterward, go through D'Amboise Gate to walk along the Street of the Knights. Here, you will find the residences of the Knights, separated according to Order, and to this day bear their corresponding crests. Day 6 Heraklion & Santorini Enjoy the morning at leisure in Crete Spend the evening at leisure in Santorini, or join an optional excursion Celestyal Discovery or similar Breakfast, lunch & dinner Full Day Itinerary Arrive in Heraklion early this morning. An optional shore excursion will take you to see the ruins of Knossos, the ceremonial and political center of the Minoan civilization on Crete, just five kilometers from Heraklion city center. The palace at Knossos was an intricate collection of over 1,000 interlocking rooms, used as a religious and administrative center and for workshops for artisans and food processing. The ruins have primarily been excavated, and much of them colorfully painted and restored. Back in Heraklion, the open-air market is a must-see, where a boisterous crowd buys and sells everything from goats and sheep to vast cauldrons of fresh yogurt. Other points of interest include the Archaeological Museum, one of the finest in Greece, exquisite housing findings from Knossos and other Minoan ruins, numerous Venetian fortresses, fountains, and loggias scattered throughout the city and the Historical Museum of Crete, with its Byzantine and folklore collections. Return to the ship to continue sailing to Santorini. This striking island is a volcanic crater immersed in the sea and famous for its breathtaking and rugged landscapes, whitewashed houses, open-air cafes, and glittering boutiques clinging to cliffs, accessible by foot, cable car, or mule. Note:  November 2, 2024  departure  will follow the winter cruise schedule and will not stop in Crete and spend the  full day in Santorini. Optional Excursion: Spectacular Oia Village (purchased locally), $86 Enjoy a half day of sightseeing, beginning with a scenic drive where you will have the unique opportunity to admire the panoramic view of the Aegean Sea and the neighboring islands. Oia Village is an excellent example of Cycladic architecture built on the Caldera rim. Explore the village, walking along the cobblestone streets, admiring the white-washed houses with blue shutters and domes, some of the most photogenic in Greece. Your coach will bring you back to the port of Athinios, where you will embark on your tender boat to return the ship for a final evening at sea. Day 7 Athens Disembark the ship in Athens Enjoy a tour of Athens, including the Acropolis Spend the afternoon at leisure, or enjoy an optional excursion Royal Olympic Hotel or similar Breakfast Full Day Itinerary Disembark from your ship in Athens. Enjoy the striking contrast between breathtaking monuments of a glorious past and elegant modern structures during your tour of Athens. Visit the Acropolis, the crowning beauty and glory of Ancient Athens, with its many monuments atop its rocky base, including the awesome Parthenon, the Propylea, the temple of Athena Nike, and the Erechtheion, with its Porch of Maidens. Drive to the Roman Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Panathinaikon Stadium (site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896), and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament House on Constitution Square. See views of government buildings and elegant structures of the 19th century. Drive along Panepistimiou Avenue and view the Catholic Cathedral, the Academy, the University, and the National Library. In contrast, conclude your tour with a visit to the new Acropolis Museum, a marvel of architecture with an entire exhibition of the glory of Ancient Athens. Optional Excursion: Cape Sounion (purchased locally), $55 Drive along the coastal road past countless coves and the beautiful beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, and Varkiza to Cape Sounion. Dominated by the spectacular Temple of Poseidon, the sanctuary at Sounion is one of Attica's most important archaeological sites. Although evidence suggests that the site dates back to the prehistoric period, the sanctuary is first mentioned in Homer's Odyssey, where Menelaos stopped during his return from Troy to bury his helmsman, Phrontes Onetorides. Learn about this area's rich history as you take in stunning views of the Aegean on this fascinating optional excursion. Note: This optional excursion is sold locally at approximately €49 per person. Day 8 Athens Enjoy a full day to explore Athens on your own, or join an optional excursion Or, continue on our optional Classical Greece Extension Royal Olympic Hotel or similar Breakfast Day 9 Athens/USA Bid farewell to Athens as you're escorted to the airport to board your return flight Arrive in the USA later today

At the ports of Mykonos, Patmos, and Santorini, disembarkation is by tender boats, weather permitting. Kusadasi and Patmos stops might be in inverted order. Day 8 Athens, Mycenae & Olympia Drive across the Corinth Canal to Olympia Eroute, visit the famous theatre of Epidaurus Spend the evening at leisure in Olympia Amalia Hotel Olympia or similar Breakfast & dinner Full Day Itinerary After breakfast, board your touring coach and begin a tour of Greece's classical cities. Drive across the Corinth Canal, which connects the Ionian Sea with the Aegean, to the Peloponnesian Peninsula, where 4,000 years of history are more fully and comprehensibly illustrated than elsewhere in Europe. Visit the famous theater of Epidaurus, the best preserved in Greece, which reached the height of its fame in the 5th & 4th centuries B.C. The acoustics are so perfect that every word can be heard, even from the last of the 55 tiers. Continue to ancient Mycenae. According to the poets, Mycenae was founded by Perseus and built with the aid of the mythological Cyclops. Drive on to Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic games, for dinner and overnight. Day 9 Olympia, Nafpaktos & Delphi Enjoy a morning tour of the archaeological site and museum at Olympia Embark on an afternoon drive via Patras to Rion, Antirion and picturesque Nafpaktos Spend the evening at leisure in Delphi Amalia Hotel Delphi or similar Breakfast & dinner Full Day Itinerary This morning, tour the archaeological site and museum at Olympia, where the Olympic games were conceived as a tribute to Hercules, son of Zeus. These games were the most important international event in the Hellenic world from 776 B.C. to 393 A.D. and continue today, with the lighting of the Olympic flame that runners carry across the globe. Visit the Sanctuary of the Olympian Zeus and the Museum. This afternoon, drive via Patras to Rion, Antirion, and picturesque Nafpaktos, where, according to mythology, Hercules slew the Erymanthine boar and where we'll view the lovely circular Venetian harbor. Continue our drive to Delphi for dinner and overnight. Day 10 Delphi & Kalambaka Enjoy a morning tour of Delphi Spend the evening at leisure in Kalambaka Amalia Hotel Kalambaka or similar Breakfast & dinner Full Day Itinerary After breakfast, explore the ancient site of Delphi, located on the slopes of the breathtaking Mount Parnassus, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty. Here lie the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios, the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo, and the museum, which contains masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture, including the famous bronze Charioteer. The site had been sacred since at least the Bronze Age. According to legend, the shrine was originally guarded by the she-dragon Pytho. She was killed by Apollo, who then took over the oracle. In antiquity, Delphi was regarded as the center of the world. Later, depart for the small town of Kalambaka, built at the foot of the majestic gray rocks, where the river Pinios leaves Pindos Mountain. Day 11 Meteora & Athens Enjoy a morning tour of Meteora monasteries This afternoon, drive back to Athens via Thermopylae Spend the evening at leisure in Athens Royal Olympic Hotel or similar Breakfast Full Day Itinerary This morning, visit the spectacular Meteora monasteries, perched upon the summits of some steep and isolated rocky pinnacles, which rise above the almost flat valley of the Pinios River, 5.5 miles beyond Kalambaka. The monastic history of Meteora goes back to the 11th century AD when the monks constructed inaccessible eagle's nests in the crannies of these rocks, and today, four are still occupied. Later this afternoon, drive back to Athens via Thermopylae, a famous battleground from the Persian wars. Arrive in Athens and check into your hotel. Day 12 Athens/USA Today, you'll be escorted to the airport and bid farewell to Athens as you board your flight back home Your exciting journey comes to an end as you arrive in the USA later today Breakfast

Mykonean Dinner (Half Day: Up to 4.5 hours)

With never-ending rows of whitewashed houses, churches, boutiques and hidden lanes, Mykonos Town is a haven to explore. We’ll set off on foot around Chora, the historic heart, gradually weaving our way to Little Venice where you’ll spot colorful houses dripping into the bright blue sea and al fresco terraces buzzing with cocktail and coffee drinkers. Then, it’s over to the town’s most famous landmark – the Windmills – that stand tall by the sea, providing the most romantic spot to watch the sunset. Our next stop on the walking tour will be Panagia Paraportianí, a beauty of a Byzantine church dating back to 1425 and one of the most photographed on the island. Afterwards, it’s time to take your seat at the dinner table for a real Greek feast rounded off with a side order of some feet-stomping music and traditional island dancing.

Adults: $96, Children: $68

Mykonian countryside tour with Hora & Little Venice (Half Day: Up to 4.5 hours)

This tour encompasses the best of Mykonos outside its main city. We will drive around the island to get a glimpse into its beaches such as Ornos (one of the most family-friendly on the island), St Anna (protected by two hills called “Aphrodite’s breasts”), and Kalafatis (a paradise for water sports and windsurfing). We will stop briefly at each of these natural splendors for photos. We will then leave the seashore and drive inland to Ano Mera, a village which remains one of the rare unspoiled parts of the island. Home to the Panagia Tourliani Monastery from the 16th century, the village unfolds around its impressive bell tower and marble fountain. Coming back to Chora we will go for a short stop to Panagia Paraportianí, the iconic 15th century Byzantine church. We will conclude our bus tour at the picturesque Little Venice -- the perfect spot for a cocktail on the sea.

Adults: $83, Children: $54

Ancient Ephesus through the ages - Hellenistic and Roman (Half Day: Up to 4.5 hours)

Our Ancient Ephesus bus tour is a journey through the golden ages which shaped a pivotal center of commerce and spirituality. Built 3,000 years ago, Ephesus shaped the history of Greek, Turkish and Christian civilizations from its privileged location, chosen (according to legend) by the oracle of Delphi. A site of pilgrimage, due to its proximity to the Temple of Artemis (one of the 7 Wonders of the World) and the presence of major Christian figures (the apostles Paul and John and the Virgin Mary) within the city walls, Ephesus is currently one of the largest Roman archaeological sites in the Mediterranean. The splendour of its golden age is visible throughout its streets and exceptionally well-preserved ruins. As we explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site you will have the opportunity to breathe in the centuries of cultural effervescence, visible in the Ephesus Agora, Odeon, the Houses of the Patricians, the beautiful Temple of Hadrian and the astonishing Library of Celsus. You will also have the opportunity to bargain and shop local merchandise such as carpets,

Ancient Ephesus and the Terrace Houses (Half Day: Up to 4.5 hours)

For over 13 centuries the City of Ephesus has been at the heart of intense commerce, spiritual revelations and blooming art, and was the hub of the Christian community in the East established by St. Paul the Apostle. Our bus tour will take you to a selection of the city’s remarkable landmarks, allowing you to get a glimpse of its former glory and the history that still lives within its architectural jewels, inspiring edifices and narrow streets. You will also have the opportunity to bargain and shop local merchandise such as carpets, leather goods, souvenirs, etc. On our half-day excursion we will explore some truly memorable locations within the City of Ephesus. One of the most awe-inspiring sites is that of the Terrace Houses. There is so much to absorb here -- we will take some time to walk through the ruins to discover what family life was like for the wealthy Romans who resided in these once opulent homes. Mosaic floors and frescos on the walls of dining rooms, living rooms and bedrooms tell lost tales of ancient times. Our visit will include stops at the Ephesus Agora, the Thermal Baths for Scholastica (built in the 1st Century AD), the monumental Great Theatre and Library of Celsus (the 3rd largest library of the ancient world, where 12,000 scrolls were once carefully stored), the Trajan fountain and the Prytaneum (the religious and political center of the city).

Adults: $91, Children: $68

House of the Virgin Mary and Ancient Ephesus (Half Day: Up to 4.5 hours)

One of the largest open-air museums in the world, the ancient city of Ephesus is home to impressive architectural treasures from the Greek, Roman and Hellenistic periods. Join a half-day tour to delve back through the centuries, visit the House of the Virgin Mary and shop for souvenirs in the sprawling Kusadasi bazaar. You’ll travel into the olive grove hills around Kusadasi to the House of the Virgin Mary, an important pilgrimage site where the Virgin Mary lived the last few years of her life. Then on to the ancient city of Ephesus, one of the most incredible open-air archaeological sites and museums in the world. Admire ancient relics such as the Library of Celsus, the Odeon, marble-paved streets, baths, the Magnesia Gate and the Great Theater amongst many others. Enjoy unravelling the layers of history before returning to the bustling seaside city of Kusadasi. You will also have the opportunity to bargain and shop local merchandise such as carpets, leather goods, souvenirs, etc.

Religious visit to St John's Monastery - Grotto of Apocalypse (Half Day: Up to 4.5 hours)

On this excursion you are sure to experience the sacred grandeur of this intensely spiritual Dodecanese island. We visit Chora, St. John’s Monastery and the Holy Grotto of the Apocalypse, which for centuries have drawn pilgrims to Patmos for prayer, esoteric seclusion and solemnity. From the port of Skala we travel up the mountain by air-conditioned coach to immaculate Chora. Its skirting of traditional white houses encircles the bottom of the exterior walls of the Monastery of St. John the Divine. An architecturally homogenous village, the cobblestone streets and alleys of Chora are lined with mansions built by wealthy ship owners during the 17th and 18th centuries. As you wend your way up to the Monastery, at the top of the hill, be sure to seek out an authentic taste of this unique Dodecanese village along some of its quieter thoroughfares. Now surrounded by the village, the fortified Monastery of St. John, whose walls are more than 15 meters high, was built with local gray stone. In 1088 St. Christodoulos requested the entire island of Patmos from Byzantine Emperor Alexis I Comnenus so he could found a monastery dedicated to St. John. Even after “The Blessed” was driven from Patmos by pirates, monks continued building the monastery which, within a few centuries, became an important cultural, religious and spiritual center. Within its warren of chapels and courtyards, the Monastery of St. John houses medieval icons of the Cretan school and the Chapel of the Theotokos (the Virgin Mary), whose beautiful frescoes date to the 12th century; the monastery’s main chapel dates to the end of the 11th century. There is also a museum within the monastery, with icons, religious objects of silver and gold, sacred relics and embroidered vestments of inestimable value on display. Halfway down the mountain to Plaka we stop at the Holy Grotto of the Apocalypse. According to Christian tradition, three fissures (a symbol of the Holy Trinity) opened in a wall in the grotto, and St. John heard the voice of God, who granted him a series of visions of the future (revelations), vivid pictures of how the Church would grow, battle the wicked powers of earth and hell and ultimately emerge victorious. The voice commanded the saint to transcribe these visions: St. John dictated the revelations to one of his disciples, Prochoros, and this text became the Book of Revelations. During his time in this sacred cave, St. John also composed the Fourth Gospel. The entrance to the grotto is marked with a mosaic of the visions of the saint. Inside the grotto, the nightly resting place of the saint’s head is fenced off and delineated in beaten silver. We return to Plaka, where you’ll have free time for shopping and a coffee beside the harbor. Close your eyes and let the grandeur of this miraculous island suffuse your soul.

Patmos country side tour with Hora and Grotto of Apocalypse (Half Day: Up to 4.5 hours)

We start our tour with a drive through Skala, the only port and the center of Patmos Island where you will also find a beautiful beach, the new modern marina and most cafes, restaurants, tavernas and bars of the island, all clustered together. Our first stop is the Cave of the Apocalypse -- an important place of pilgrimage as it is said to have been the place where St John heard the voice of God and where he received the words of the Revelation. We will then go to Chora, a medieval settlement from where you will enjoy a wonderful view of the Monastery of the Apocalypse, Skala and the northeastern side of the island. Its architectural details have been respectfully restored ensuring full harmony and balance with the sacred Monastery. Our exploration continues with a scenic tour of the rocky, volcanic landscape of the island where we will also stop to take pictures of the ethereal windmills. We will say farewell to Patmos at Arion Bar on the Skala promenade -- the oldest café on the island and the best place to enjoy a classic freddo cappuccino.

Traditional Feast in Patmos (Half Day: Up to 4.5 hours)

If you’re looking to really soak up and savor culture in Patmos, then this traditional feast is la crème de la crème. You’ll be whisked from the port in Skala to a traditional taverna – scenic drive included – where a true banquet of flavor and color awaits. Pull up a chair to the wooden tables, all laden with steaming hot food, and tuck into a wealth of mouth-watering traditional dishes. They all sing with local ingredients and spices, and are made as they have been for decades. And in true Greek fashion, every meal will be capped off with some music that really puts the ‘live’ in lively. You’ll soon find yourself up on your feet on the dancefloor, arm in arm with your fellow guests and dancing the one and only Greek Zorba. It’s an immersive experience in Greek culture and cuisine to leave Patmos on a sweet note.

The Philerimos hill, one of the city’s most famous landmarks, is a prime location for enjoying magnificent views of the homonymous bay and marvel at the elegance of the Byzantine church of St. George Hostos, which is home to stunning 14th century frescoes. We will also see the Philerimos Monastery, unique throughout Greece because of its surprising Gothic architecture. Our tour will also explore the hill of Monte Smith, named after a Napoleonic British admiral, upon which the impressive Acropolis of Rhodes has stood throughout centuries of Greek, Roman, Byzantine or Ottoman rule. Amazing structures, such as the Apollo Temple and the Diagoras Ancient Stadium, still evoke the ancient glory of Rhodes. We will end our tour with free time in the Old Town, following a brief view of the majestic Grand Master Palace, the symbol of power for the Knights of St. John of Rhodes.

At the top of the street we will enter a world of architectural and political might, as we visit the impressive, Gothic-style Grand Master’s Palace, the seat of power during the occupation of the Knights of St. John. Built in the 14th century, atop the ruins of a 7th century citadel, the palace is beautifully preserved as a key feature of the Old Town of Rhodes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will drive by the proud Koules Fortress (the Venetian fortress dominating the harbour) and continue to the stunning Venetian Loggia, the 17th century administrative centre of the island. The masterfully intertwined Doric and Ionic architectural details on its facade are a sample of the refined Venetian architecture and they underline the importance of Heraklion within the Venetian Republic. We will continue towards the Morozini fountain, another masterpiece from the same creator of the Loggia and the Church of St.Titus. As we approach the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion we approach the best Minoan art museum in the world, and one of the finest museums of Greek history and art. Founded in 1883, the museum brings to life over 5,500 years of Greek and Roman history, through its invaluable artefacts. Experience the Cretan countryside and lifestyle (Half Day: Up to 4.5 hours)

We begin our bus tour from the port of Heraklion, guarded by its Venetian Lions, and continue beyond the city’s landmarks and limits, on a panoramic drive to Peza, the wine valley of Crete. Over 20% of Greece’s wine production originates from the sun-kissed island of Crete and our drive will impress you with beautiful sights of Crete’s countryside and its 4,000 year old vineyards. As we arrive in Stironas, a small traditional Cretan village located at an altitude of 550m, you will embark upon a complete sensorial experience. The Botanical Parterre, a formal garden nesting a multitude of aromatic herbs and medicinal plants native to the mountains of Crete, will reveal to you some of Cretan cuisine’s secrets and indulge you with fragrances of all kinds. Our final and festive stop will be at the traditional Raki distiller of Stironas, where our host will greet you with pure Cretan wine produced and stored in his cellar and will share with you the secret art of wine producing and bottling. Following the Cretan hospitality, we will be invited to experience a traditional Cretan meal, with all the best natural products, while a group of traditional dancers will make you feel right at home.

Spectacular Oia Village perched on the caldera rim (Half Day: Up to 4.5 hours)

We will continue on to the east, in the background, you will have settlements like Kamari and Monolithos, while you will pass through Fira, the small traditional villages of Firostefani and Imerovigli with delicate architecture and beauties, to eventually arrive at the settlement of Oia. During the entire route, to the west you will have before your eyes the lace-like caldera, the little islands of Thirasia, Palea and Nea Kameni and an unsurpassable panoramic view. In Oia you will have plenty of time to stroll through the marble-paved alleys, to gaze at the adorably cute shops, to take pictures, to become acquainted with the characteristic buildings, carved into the rocks and the unusual captains’ manors, the settlement Ammoudi at the foot of the caldera… After your curiosity has been sated of the area which is characterized as being of “exceptional natural beauty”, your return begins...

Akrotiri Excavations (Half Day: Up to 4.5 hours)

Welcome to a half-day tour of Plato’s source of inspiration for the legend of Atlantis, the Minoan Bronze Age settlement of Akrotiri. During our exploration we will discover ancient treasures exceptionally preserved by the same element which led to the destruction of the Akrotiri civilization - volcanic ash. Dating back to the 4th millennium BC, the archeological site of Akrotiri will simply amaze you with the complexity of the edifices and decorations unearthed here since 1967. Delicate art treasures, including vivid frescos, furniture and vessels, tell magnificent stories of the ancient life and society of the Minoan civilization. We will end our immersion in Santorini’s astounding history with free time in the town of Akrotiri, beautifully located close to the famous Red Beach and overlooking the southeastern side of the island.

Cruise to Santorini's islands and volcanoes (Half Day: Up to 4.5 hours)

Our half day boat tour takes you on a unique journey around one of the most photographed landscapes in the world - the island of Santorini. This intimate boat tour will allow you to discover this incredibly romantic island from a unique perspective, getting up close and personal with Santorini’s coarse volcanic silhouette. We will pass by Palea and Nea Kameni, two uninhabited and wholly volcanic islands in the Santorini complex. These islands, made of black lava, present an astonishing landscape, violently moulded by the powerful volcanic eruption of circa 1600 BC which created Santorini’s current scenery. The famous Santorini volcano crater is found on Nea Kameni and a brief walk takes the curious visitor to the edge of the still active crater. The raw power, visible among the rugged landscape, is exceptionally impressive and will fill you with a rush of adrenaline as you peer into its seemingly bottomless darkness. We will end our tour of Santorini with a visit to Palea Kameni’s hot springs, where the healing waters can reach up to 35 degrees celsius. Here you will have a chance to swim to the springs.

4-day Iconic Aegean cruise

Logo of Celestyal Cruises

This is by far the most popular cruise and justifiably so: no other cruise of this duration includes so many popular ports of call. The itinerary is basically that of the 3-day Iconic Aegean cruise , extended to include a full day in Rhodes, often referred to as the island of the Knights of St. John, who built the beautifully preserved medieval town of the island (a World Heritage Site). There is a lot more to it, however: famous worldwide for the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the island has been incessantly inhabited since the Neolithic times. One can see traces of its turbulent history all over, enjoying the alloy produced from the presence of so many different cultures and peoples.

The cruise can be easily combined with weekend international flights and a couple of overnights in Athens, offering a complete and filling 7-day travel experience in Greece.

Greek Isle Beauty

Explore greek isle ports.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

Step back in time on your cruise to Greece. Visit the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, and other ancient ruins. Follow your tour with an open-air dinner in the Plaka neighborhood.

Crete (Souda), Greece

On the northwest coast of the island of Crete, Souda beckons with a romantic Venetian harbor, Old Town’s tangle of streets, and a 500-year-old lighthouse.

Katakolon (Olympia), Greece

The region reveals what it means to be Greek: traditions that go back thousands of years, simple but delicious and healthy cuisine, towering mountains, and crystal blue seas.

Mykonos, Greece

Mykonos is a top choice among the glamourous. Chic tavernas with open terraces line the sea and after the sun dips down, the island sizzles with youthful energy.

Kerkira (Corfu), Greece

Come ashore to Corfu on your Greek Islands cruise, a muse for some of history’s most notable writers. Be inspired with a swim in its azure waters or wander verdant, cypress-dotted hills.

Rhodes, Greece

Even without its immense Helios statue, Rhodes remains one of the most-visited Greek islands with its white-sand beaches, glittering coves and fascinating ruins.

Thira (Santorini), Greece

Santorini has a dizzying array of archeological treasures, sun-bleached villages and world-renowned wines. To top it all, it’s home to one of the most beautiful volcanic calderas in the world.

Gythion (Sparta), Greece

Once the port of ancient Sparta, this lovely fishing town draws its name from gi theon, which means “land of the gods” in Greek. It’s the entryway to the rugged, mountainous realm of the Spartans—the fiercely independent people who rejected foreign rule time and time again.

Kavala (Neapolis), Greece

Northern Greece is often overlooked as a Greek Isle cruise destination, and many will not even have heard of the Macedonian port of Kavála. But the city, and the region it opens into, are both picturesque and culturally important, with a history that encompasses classical times as well as the more modern era.

Mytilene, Nisos Lesbos

Lesbos, Greece is well known for olives and ouzo production, and visitors can see evidence of both everywhere. The island's charms extend beyond those pleasures, though: It’s a beautiful place of open plains, sweeping hills, and sandy beaches with views of Turkey across the water.

Pylos, Greece

Pine-covered hills wrap around the lovely town of Pylos (often referred to as Navarino, its Italian name), in the Messenia region of Greece's Peloponnese. Cobblestoned streets lead down to the harbor, where outdoor cafés overlook the bay. This pleasant scene, however, belies a turbulent history.

Romance and culture await on a Greek Island cruise

It’s no wonder the Greek Islands have always been a perennial favorite of travelers. Greece is a magical, romantic destination where you can wander alongside stunning coastlines, explore the ruins of ancient cultures, and dine on fresh Mediterranean cuisine all in one vacation.

On one of our Greek Island cruises, explore far-flung beaches, drift out to sea on catamarans and kayaks, and duck into tiny tavernas where you can eat and drink like a local. From the sun-soaked stone buildings in Santorini to the white-sand beaches that beckon in Mykonos, a Greece cruise is the best way to experience the captivating Greek Islands.

Greek Island Cruise Highlights

Once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

There is no shortage of unforgettable experiences to be had in Greece. Its seascapes and cityscapes are wondrous, from the mighty ruins of the Acropolis to the buzzing, modern city center of Athens. Visit an olive farm in Crete, or embark on a tour of Mykonos Town’s organic wineries. Or, take an intimate, exclusive cooking lesson on how to make local favorites in Santorini’s main square, right in the middle of it all.

Ancient History

Greece is a world-renowned destination for history buffs. Stroll through the Acropolis and marvel at human achievement, or visit the Museum of Cycladic Art to study Aegean and Cypriot artifacts. Examine the 400-year-old remains of a town buried under volcanic ash outside of Santorini. Explore the historic forts of Corfu, or hop on a boat ride to Delos, said to be the birthplace of Apollo.

Natural Wonders

Discover Elafonisi Beach, a paradise of pink, powdery sand and shallow waters off the island of Crete. Take an unforgettable cruise through the impressive Corinth Canal on a shore excursion in Athens. Stand in awe at the base of Mount Olympus, Greece’s highest mountain and the fabled home of the Greek gods. In Zakynthos, don’t miss a visit to the awe-inspiring Shipwreck Beach, which often tops best-of lists.

Featured Ports

Santorini, Greece

Travelers flock to Santorini for its cobalt-roofed homes, friendly locals, and fine local wine. On this crescent-shaped island, soak up the sun at black-sand beaches like Perissa, or spend a day at the Santorini Caldera, one of the only places in the world to see submerged remnants of an erupted volcano. Sample Greek wines at family-owned wineries dotting the Aegean coast, and take the time to marvel at the incredible panoramas all around you.

Mykonos, Greece

Mykonos is the quintessential Mediterranean beach destination. Choose your favorite to spend the day on, or book a sailing excursion to go beach hopping. Take a day trip beyond Mykonos to the nearby island of Delos, an uninhabited archeological site said to be the birthplace of Greek gods. Experience an authentic side of the island with a home-cooking class, where you’ll sample and prepare delicious local specialties.

Athens, Greece

To visit the capital of Greece is to take a trip back in time, whether you’re exploring the narrow streets of the Plaka District or hiking the Acropolis for well-earned views of the Parthenon. After a day of exploration, pop into a taverna for Mediterranean meze and a cold beer.

Cruise Holiday in Greece: Best Greece Cruise Recommendation by Travel Experts

Last Updated: September 17, 2024

Top Greece Cruises

Greece is a popular European destination, known for its gorgeous islands, beautiful beaches, ancient culture, interesting history, and mouthwatering food. While exploring Greece is exciting, going on a Greece cruise is even better. The country is home to more than 6000 islands, and the only access to some of the islands is through boats. Moreover, there is the fun of traveling on a large luxury ship, where you can indulge in an array of activities. There is no dearth of cruises in this European country, but here we talk about the best Greece cruises as recommended by travel experts.

1. Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas Cruise

Royal Caribbean, one of the prestigious cruise lines, offers several cruises that give you the chance to explore Greece and Greek Isles. Its 7-day cruise on Voyager of the Seas takes you to some of the most popular Greek islands. It is one of the top cruises from Athens and lets you explore Mykonos and Santorini in Greece. Apart from Greece, you will also get to visit Turkey (Epheus) and Italy (Sicily, Naples, and Rome). While exploring the Greek and Italian ports is exciting, your time on the Royal Caribbean cruise is even more fun. The ship is full of adventures and activities and there is no time to get bored. The cruise comes equipped with high-speed waterslides, laser tag clash, surf simulator, rock-climbing wall, ice-skating arena, and more. Norwegian Viva of the Norwegian Cruises is another cruise that takes you on a journey of the Greek Islands. The seven-day cruise begins in Piraeus, Athens and gives you a tour of Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes, and Heraklion Crete, before returning to Athens. The cruise also takes a two-day detour to Turkey, giving you the opportunity to explore Istanbul and Kusadasi. Apart from the port visits, there is lot to see and do on the Norwegian Viva. You get to stay in spacious cabins, some of which give you a view of the ocean. While you are sailing on the cruise, you can explore the ship and its numerous activities. Norwegian Viva gives you the chance to enjoy mini golf, a kids’ aqua park, clubs for teenagers and kids, a cool sundeck, infinity pool, etc. It has Oceanwalk, a glass bridge on the upper deck, to enjoy the sea. You can also try the super-fast dry slides that will take you from the upper deck to the lower deck in a jiffy.

3. Celebrity Cruises

Another leading cruise that offers cruises to Greece is Celebrity Cruises. This cruise line has multiple itineraries that let you explore Greece anywhere between 9 and 12 days. Most of these are Athens cruises and depending on the itineraries you choose, you will get to visit some of the best islands of Greece, including Santorini, Mykonos, Volos, Thessaloniki, Hydra, Olympia, Corfu, Rhodes, and Chania. greek island cruise 4 days

Benvenuto in Italia! Your Italian tour begins on arrival at Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE), where you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel in the heart of Venice.

Romance and revelry meet in explosive colour along the shady canals and labyrinthine alleys of this spectacular city. Fine seafood, artfully arched bridges and glorious sunsets are just some of the reasons visitors flock to Venice each year.

Arrive early and settle in before meeting your tour director in the evening.

Arrival & Transfers:

Please book your flights to arrive at Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) before 5pm. Airport transfers are included on the first day of your tour. Your transfer will meet you on arrival and take you to your hotel. Check-in on Day 1 is at 2pm.

Spend today exploring the magnificent floating city of Venice. Follow you guide as you walk the narrow alleys and cross picturesque bridges over peaceful canals to discover the city’s most beautiful sites, including the lively Piazza San Marco with its miraculous Byzantine basilica, the grand Doge’s Palace and the spectacular Rialto Bridge, which arches over the Grand Canal.

Later, you’re free to explore this glorious city’s twisting streets at leisure, perhaps paying a visit to the legendary Bridge of Sighs – a beautiful structure, so-named for its tragic history. Alternatively, choose to join an optional lagoon cruise to Murano and Burano, famous for glassmaking, lacework and brightly coloured stonework (surcharges apply).

In the early evening, climb into a gondola for a magical ride along the canals on your way to a decadent welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Optional Activity:

  • Murano & Burano Venitian Lagoon cruise (surcharges apply).

Gather your energy with a filling breakfast, then head south to beautiful Bologna. Soaring towers, stunning churches and lengthy porticoes paint a picture of rich architectural heritage. Take a guided tour of this warm and welcoming city and visit the Archiginnasio, home to the historic Anatomical Theatre. This awe-inspiring palace was formerly part of the University of Bologna – opened in the 11th century and thought to be the oldest university in the world.

Continue to Florence, the capital of Tuscany and known as the birthplace of the Renaissance. Spend your evening in your comfortable hotel and choose to step out into the glittering streets by night.

Rise and shine with a refreshing breakfast, then join a guided walking tour through the storied streets of this marvellous jewel of the Renaissance. With its extensive cultural heritage and far-reaching influence, Florence is a living expression of one of Italy’s most enduring artistic movements.

Admire the beautiful bustle of the Piazza della Signoria, the elegant grandeur of Florence Cathedral and its eye-catching red duomo and soaring bell tower, the octagonal oddity of the Battistero and the medieval Ponte Vecchio bridge, spanning the Arno River.

Spend the afternoon freely wandering the city of arts, perhaps choosing to visit the Uffizi Gallery for a chance to witness Botticelli’s masterpiece, ‘The Birth of Venus’.

Optional activities:

  • Michelangelo’s David at the Accademia Gallery + Medici Chapels (surcharges apply).

Wake to a hearty buffet breakfast and enjoy a day at leisure. Choose to wander the cobbled streets in search of ultra-delicious gelato, sit down for a plate of tagliatelle funghi porcini e tartufo (fresh mushroom pasta) or step into the Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze to see the statue of David, Michelangelo’s masterpiece (surcharges apply).

Alternatively, decide to join an optional full-day excursion to nearby Pisa, where you can see the famous leaning tower, and the Renaissance-era structure of Lucca, an Italian ‘City of Art’ (surcharges apply).

  • Day tour of Pisa and Lucca (surcharges apply).

Waste no time this morning as you set out on the road to Chianti. The heart of Italy’s wine country, Chianti is an idyllic landscape of gently rolling hills and bucolic stone villages.

Above all, Chianti is known for its titular wine, produced primarily with red Sangiovese grapes. Let vibrant fruity notes and contrasting herbal tones dance across your palate as you join a tasting at one of the region’s best vineyards.

Continue to Siena, an historic city encircled by walls constructed in the Middle Ages. Follow your local guide through the streets to immerse yourself in the art, culture and traditions, then stop for an ‘aperitivo’ of local wine and light lunch in the renowned Piazza del Campo.

Later, depart for Perugia, where you’ll check in at your hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

Start your day exploring the university town of Perugia, famed for its arts festivals and cultural events. As the capital of Italy’s central Umbria region, this city boasts medieval palaces, a Gothic cathedral and Renaissance artwork aplenty.

Continue on to Assisi where Saint Francis, founder of the Franciscan Order, was born. Gaze upon the 13th-century basilicas of Saint Francis and his contemporary Saint Clare, who together established the ‘Poor Clares’ as a branch of the Franciscan Order.

This afternoon, depart for Rome and check in at your hotel. Spend the rest of your day acquainting yourself with this nonstop metropolis at your own pace.

No where does romance like Rome – this city is a buzzing blend of contemporary culture and rich history.

Step out on a morning discovery tour, marvelling at the cobbled alleys and impressive sites that pepper this urban landscape. Your tour culminates at enormous Saint Peter’s Square, right at the doorstep of Saint Peter’s Basilica and Vatican City. Join your guide as you enter the jaw-dropping Sistine Chapel. Turn your eyes to the heavens and survey the profoundly moving ceiling fresco, painted by the inimitable Michelangelo.

Later, choose to spend your leisure time absorbing the views at Piazza Navona and the incredible Pantheon. Don’t miss your chance to throw a coin into the legendary Trevi Fountain and make a wish.

  • Rome walking tour (surcharges apply).

Indulge in a buffet breakfast at your hotel, then set about on a day of discovery at leisure.

Choose to view the masterworks of Caravaggio, Canova and Raphael at the Borghese Gallery, watch the playful resident cats of Largo di Torre Argentina leaping and lazing around the temple ruins, or cool off with a scoop at hidden gem Gelateria del Teatro.

Perhaps you’ll decide to join an optional art walk, visiting Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano and witnessing the grand sculpture of Moses at San Pietro in Vincoli (surcharges apply).

In the early evening, regroup with your fellow travellers for a sumptuous farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

  • Colosseum tour (surcharges apply).

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then relax as you watch the Italian countryside roll by on your way to historic Pompeii.

Mark your arrival with a tour of the remarkable ruins and learn about their epic history. Wander the bones of this long-dormant city, eerily preserved in volcanic ash during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 BCE.

In the afternoon, savour a light lunch at a local vineyard and taste the full-bodied and fruity flavour of Lacryma Christi, made from grapes grown in the volcanic soil on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius.

Spend the evening as you desire.

Fill up with an energising breakfast at your hotel, then spend your day freely exploring. Return to the eerie silence of the ruins for a deeper dive into history or stop at one of Pompeii’s many cafes and restaurants for fresh seafood or perhaps some delicious ragu.

Alternatively, choose to take an optional early tour to the exclusive island of Capri for a traditional lunch and a visit to a limoncello factory.

  • Capri day tour (surcharges apply).

Prepare for a full day cruising the incredible Amalfi Coast, sailing between the beloved towns of Positano and Amalfi.

This UNESCO World Heritage-listed region is renowned for its colourful houses and terrace towns that climb the steep cliffside. The coast is home to hidden gems such as the natural swimming hole of Bagni Regina Giovanna and Li Galli, the legendary home of the sirens. Stop at idyllic Positano and walk along the beach, then later disembark for a chance to explore the rainbow of structures, covered passages and awe-inspiring Piazza del Duomo.

Later, return to your hotel for a well-earned dinner and a relaxing evening in comfort.

Tuck into a buffet breakfast before making your way to sweeping Caserta. The astounding detail and architecture of the Royal Palace offer wonders both micro and macro as you stroll the grounds of the largest former royal residence in the world.

Later, continue to Rome for your final evening in Italy. Dust your hands with flour and put your kneading to the test at a memorable pizza-making masterclass, then dine with your fellow travellers at an unforgettable feast.

After breakfast, it’s time to wave goodbye as you board an economy-class flight onward to Athens International Airport (ATH).

Yassas, and welcome to beautiful Greece! Widely regarded as the cradle of Western civilisation, Athens is a bustling city that brings history to life. A plethora of archaeological sites shape its topography, and museums housing precious ancient artefacts pepper the landscape. Make no mistake, though – Athens is ever-evolving, drawing on arts, culture and cuisine to breathe new life into the ruins.

Your tour begins upon arrival at Athens International Airport (ATH), where you’ll be met and transferred to your centrally located hotel. The rest of the day is to be spent at your leisure. Choose to climb the sunny trails of Lycabettus Hill for one of the best views over Athens, then reward yourself with mouthwatering moussaka at a local restaurant. Soak up the atmosphere on the cobbled streets of the Plaka – Athens’ welcoming old town – or step inside and browse the myriad of traditional shops.

In the evening, meet with your tour leader for a sumptuous welcome dinner and the chance to get to know your fellow adventurers.

Wake to a filling buffet breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to the port and trade cobblestones for the cruise deck as you embark on a cruise aboard the Celestyal Discovery. Elegant design and comfortable cabins await as you’re welcomed aboard for your unforgettable four-night cruise through the spectacular Greek islands. From rugged cliffs to romantic ruins, your odyssey carries you through crystalline waters in the premium comfort of your exterior cabin.

Arrive at vibrant Mykonos in the early evening and watch as the whitewashed houses and alleys light up in the glow of the island’s famous nightlife. This evening, mark your embarkation with an onboard welcome dinner of the freshest ingredients, prepared by local chefs.

Wake to the soothing sound of the Aegean Sea lapping at your doorstep and enjoy a hearty buffet breakfast aboard.

Gaze out over Kusadasi, one of Turkiye’s most popular resort towns and a launchpad to the ruins of Ephesus. One of the most important trading centres of classical Greece, Ephesus is a remarkably preserved monument to the region’s extensive history. Among the tumbled blocks and skeletal facades lie the remains of the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Continue to Patmos, famed for its biblical connections. Once the refuge of Saint John the Theologian as he wrote the Book of Revelations, this idyllic island has consequently earned the hefty title of ‘Island of the Apocalypse’.

Choose to take excursions ashore or relax in sun-drenched style on the deck – floating on Aegean waters, the ancient world is your oyster.

Tonight, savour the centuries-old flavours of traditional Greek cuisine as you watch the glittering lights along the shore.

  • Kusadasi shore excursion (surcharges apply).
  • Patmos shore excursion (surcharges apply).

Breathe in the salty air of another day on the Aegean. After breakfast, choose to relax aboard your Celestyal cruise, or opt to go ashore to magnificent Rhodes. Renowned for its historic winemaking and picturesque medieval Old Town, here once stood the legendary Colossus of Rhodes – a gargantuan statue of the sun god Helios, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, since lost to the passage of time.

Opt to step ashore and visit the Doric Temple of Athena in the hilltop Acropolis of Lindos. Wander into the Old Town of Rhodes and pass through the imposing Gate d’Amboise into the Knights’ Quarter, then rest your eyes upon the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes – one of very few examples of Gothic architecture in Greece.

Later, board your vessel once more and relax with another spectacular Greek dinner aboard.

  • Rhodes shore excursion (surcharges may apply).

After a restful sleep and an energising breakfast, you’re free to take the day at your leisure, unwinding in serenity or hopping ashore to explore Greece’s largest island, Crete.

Home to one of the earliest known civilisations of the Aegean, Crete’s ancient Minoan towns leave traces of the distant past scattered along its world-famous beaches. At the cusp of the Mediterranean Sea, Crete is also regarded as the birthplace of Mediterranean cuisine, full of fresh and fragrant ingredients to match the bright days and slow pace. Just outside the city of Heraklion is the Palace of Knossos, beneath which it’s believed lies the fabled labyrinth of the Minotaur.

In the afternoon, glide over the sparkling seas to Santorini. The breathtaking beauty of its white-terraced town and blue-domed houses is amplified by the fiery glow of the setting sun against the hillside. Volcanic sand beaches and panoramic views over the cliffs make Santorini a bucket list destination for travellers the world over. Opt to make landfall and wander the bright streets of this fantastical island community, making way for hard-working donkeys and stopping in for a glass of vinsanto – a refreshing local dessert wine.

Back aboard your vessel, tuck into another tantalising traditional dinner.

  • Crete shore excursion (surcharges apply).
  • Santorini shore excursion (surcharges apply).

Savour one last buffet breakfast aboard as you cruise into Lavrion, the Port of Athens.

Seize the day with a morning tour of Athens, led by your expert local guide. Stop at the Panathenaic Stadium, the birthplace of the modern Olympics in 1896, then gaze up at the surviving columns of the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Visit the Hellenic Parliament and study the astounding artefacts of the Numismatic Museum of Athens – a collection of over half a million coins, medals, gems and stamps dating back more than 3,000 years.

Stand in awe at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Dionysius the Areopagite, marvel at the neoclassical Academy of Athens and survey the millennia-old structure of Hadrian’s Arch.

Complete your Athens adventure with a trip to the legendary Acropolis. This ancient citadel lords over the city with the weight of history as its foundation. Circle your way up the mountain, stopping to discover numerous cultural sites and hidden remnants on your way to the jaw-dropping Temple of Athena Nike. Instantly recognisable and utterly unparalleled, this ancient temple has stood in dedication of deities Athena and Nike – goddesses of wisdom and victory, respectively – since approximately 420 BCE.

Later this afternoon, check into your hotel and spend the rest of your day freely wandering the streets of this historic metropolis. If you prefer, spend your time relaxing in your hotel with stunning views of the nearby Acropolis.

Today’s itinerary is yours to write. While away the hours at the stunning Acropolis Museum and dig deeper into the countless relics of this historic site. Sit down at a local cafe and sample anise-flavoured ouzo over freshly rolled dolmades.

For the history enthusiasts, opt to join a full-day tour of nearby Delphi, famed for its mythic oracle at the dramatic Temple of Apollo.

  • Delphi full-day excursion with lunch (surcharges apply).

After breakfast, it’s time to wave goodbye as you transfer to the Athens Airport (ATH) and say farwell to your European journey.

Departure & Transfers:

Checkout on your final day is at 11am. Please book your flights to depart from Athens Airport (ATH) at any time. Airport transfers are included on the last day of your tour. Your transfer will meet you at your hotel and take you to the airport.

Roman pizza is legendary for its light, crispy deliciousness and is a must-try for anyone visiting the Italian capital. With a leavening process that requires at least 48 hours of rest and reliance on simple, traditional ingredients – including rich tomato sauce, fresh green basil and smatterings of buffalo mozzarella cheese – pizza-making in Italy is more art than science.

Dust your hands and learn how to make pizza the traditional way with an included masterclass before feasting gloriously on your creation. There’s no better way to taste an authentic slice of Rome.

Set sail on a boat ride down the Amalfi Coast to the charming village of Positano. The sun-kissed cliffs and azure waters become your canvas, painting a masterpiece of beauty and serenity that stretches as far as the eye can see. As your boat glides along the coastline, each bend reveals a new panorama that defies description – picturesque towns nestled in the embrace of hills and colourful umbrellas lining beaches that beckon with their crystalline allure.

Drop anchor in the clear waters of Positano and venture through the pastel-hued buildings pressed along the cliff face. Choose to bask in the sunshine beneath a beach club umbrella and feed your soul with the freshest pasta and seafood on offer.

Embark on a journey of enchantment and discovery as you set sail on a four-night cruise through the captivating Greek Islands. Your adventure begins in the city of Athens, where the echoes of ancient civilisations still reverberate through the streets. From there, you’ll glide across the azure waters, feeling the gentle caress of the sea breeze against your skin, stopping at the vibrant island of Mykonos, where you will uncover its charming whitewashed buildings and lively atmosphere.

Continue sailing until you find yourself in Rhodes, a realm where medieval grandeur melds seamlessly with Mediterranean beauty. Wander through the cobbled streets of the Old Town, and let the stories of knights and traders transport you to another era.
